I really like the mood set in this, especially the Zoids all seeming almost lifeless...until Nik realizes they're waiting, just like he's searching, and meets the Gun Sniper that suits him. That connection is one not touched on enough in fics, I think - that a Zoid would be both like owning a car and owning a dog all at once, since they're *living* mecha.

Wow, that's really good. I like it. What's odd is that the way Nik describes the zoids being alive but dead and waiting for a new owner is the same way I feel about cars. Very nice story. Who's the next user gonna be?
