| missgsmith51 chapter 1 . 10/5/2014
I don't understand why she has to wipe Harry's mind. He's a wizard, after all, and it might comfort him to know that his professor had cared enough to keep watch on him over the years. It might have led to more trust on his part.
| Cassandra30 chapter 1 . 6/24/2014
By wiping his memory Harry isn't left with the knowledge of even that bit of love.
| Lily13 chapter 1 . 4/8/2014
What a wonderful story! I really like the idea of McGonagall keeping an eye out for Harry! Beautifully written too!
| serenityselena chapter 1 . 5/29/2013
interesting story :)
| Cyanidas chapter 1 . 8/4/2012
Oh nononononononono, this is so awfully sad. It's so wonderful, but really sad. If crying would be my thing to do, it'd totally cry. Considering that's out of option this oneshot really moved me (and saddened me... The ending is exorbitant sad, the last sentence killed me...)
| Sarah chapter 1 . 9/30/2011
This was wonderful. Thank you for sharing.
| DeengoBlue chapter 1 . 8/11/2011
Very eloquent (and quite a joy to read). A few lines really caught at me:
"...so closely resembled Vernon Dursley in her commodious proportions and florid coloring that Minerva decided she must be Miss Marjorie Dursley..."
"Harry knew it was an insult too, for you know about such things when you're six, even if you don't know how to talk about them yet."
Thank you so much for sharing.
| phoenix008 chapter 1 . 6/18/2011
very creative, i always had a soft spot for Minerva :) nicely done!
| Alisara chapter 1 . 5/15/2011
Minerva has always seemed incredibly maternal to me, and I really enjoyed reading this! Reading this, the only thing I found off-putting was Minerva's ability to take time for Harry. I feel like Minerva cares too much about Harry too quickly. I could understand her wanting to watch out for the savior of the wizarding world, but it feels like she cares specifically for Harry, even when she barely knows him as a baby. Having said that, I loved reading this, not only for your exceptional grammar, but for your wonderful story-telling powers! Please keep it up!
| BlackGryphon101 chapter 1 . 12/22/2010
I love how McGanagall watched out for Harry.
| morriganscrow chapter 1 . 4/26/2010
Another little gem, with a bitter-sweet ending that I enjoyed very much indeed.
| littlesun chapter 1 . 11/7/2009
Lovely! I am glad Ripper got at least a bit fright. I wish Minerva took Harry away from Dursleys, but of course, she would not go against Albus. Mila
| Silver Sailor Ganymede chapter 1 . 7/20/2009
Very bittersweet, I enjoyed reading it.
| iolah chapter 1 . 5/21/2009
Fantastically done. Melancholy and wonderful
| girlfan1979 chapter 1 . 4/8/2009
Gah! It was such a - well, it's hard to say sweet, given that it's about Harry at the Dursley's - but it is still sweet all the same. And then the end just about killed me.
