I love the idea behind it (that Harry has his father's memories) and I love the way you are sprinkling little layers of James throughout Harry's every day activities. The Quidditch drill was my favorite part of this chapter-the detail you used there was excellent. You know I am a sucker for details. Kind of a short chapter, which irks me just because I didn't find the momentum had reached a satisfactory place yet but I'll just have to wait for more until the next update, eh? | fhippogriff chapter 1 . 2/9/2007 Well, I never read first chapters when they first come out, but for you, an exception. I was curious whether it would "sound" like the other two. I guess a change to first person makes so much change that it's hard to really judge the sound. But I'll try anyway. This story reminded me of the narration in Dragnet (the TV show). I saw one on TVland once. It's a little more sarcastic than Dragnet, maybe Archie Goodwin in the Nero Wolfe books. And if you know the Nero Wolfe books I'd be amazed. Bungle's sounds like teenagers talking. Fight sounds like a bunch of adults talking, adults that didn't grow up together, and are discussing something not very personal. Ah well, I can't get it any better than that. Anyway, interesting storyline here. I'll be interested to see your reason of why he's chanelling James after finding Sirius. |
