This is THE best angsty McGarrett / Danno fic I have ever read! I immediately went back and read it again. I've never done that before. You show their closeness without a hint of slash, and I love it. I've written many fanfics in my day but can't seem to channel either of these two so that they'll "talk" to me, or at least through me. Thanks for the wonderful read!

Good alternant ending, like most shows of the time H5O did not delve into the psyche of the characters, what they felt, particularly the survivor's guilt...the reader felt that in this narrative

I stumbled across this while reading outside my usual fandoms.

Nice piece - full of emotion, without compromising the accuracy of the character portrayals. True to the original series, you give the reader tough men doing a tough job; yet you don’t stint on the depth of their friendship, the range of their emotions or their unique vulnerabilities.

It’s such a shame you haven’t posted other H5O stories here.

Having only just watched this episode (had to wait for series on dvd!) I thought this was a great continuation of and ending to the episode. Thanks for sharing even if I arrived a bit late!

So, so, sweet. That particular episode is very heart wrenching for me to watch, but you really get the full depth of James McArthur's acting ability. Having acted in my fair share of roles, I can't imagine where he had to go in his mind and his heart to give the performance he did. Great writing on your part, I love it when there are Steve/Daniel centered stories of any variety, as long as they capture the true meaning of their friendship.

Hi I've just read your wonderful aftermath to Young Assassins and wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed it. Very well written and it seemed a perfect way to extend the episode. You seem to have such an affinity with the characters of Danny and Steve that I wondered why you've not continued to write for Five-0? What a wonderful story. You placed yourself into the story line and sensed how anyone would react, trying to help a friend overcome a senseless death and facing death themselves. You showed the friendship of the two officers, making them vulnerable but very strong in character. Keep writing.
