Reviews for Working In Groups
Rainbow Prime chapter 1 . 11/14/2018
Hey now! What Q did meant that he understood humanity far better than anything here! For instance, Q KNOWS that he is important to the Continuum as a whole. As such, Q KNOWS that they would not have let him die. Therefore, the best thing to do, would be to 'sacrifice' himself out of moral obligation, and out of the knowledge that when he did so, the Continuum would've had no choice but to take him back, rather than this.
The Nine Tailed Uzumaki chapter 1 . 10/8/2018
I wonder, Is Picard going to wind up using the telepathy device? I mean there is such a thing as Chekov’s Gun, and a artificial telepathy device near the counterpart of prof C. X sounds like a good way to save Q, especially against telepathic entities, at least an attempt to use it by him.
Isca Lox chapter 5 . 2/20/2016
This is one of the best stories about Q I ever read. I so wish you'd continue this! Everyone is in character, there are witty dialogues, there are some very clever ideas. Absolutely wonderful.
Guest chapter 5 . 5/12/2015
I like this and your other works, your characterizations of Q are very interesting. It would be interesting to read more in this and your other stories if you have the inspiration.

By the way, the fate of the other Q (the Doctor) was sad, yet imaginative.
sidestory chapter 5 . 5/31/2014
This story is great please update it and let Q live and become part of the Enterprise crew
MoonShadow396 chapter 5 . 7/29/2013
Wow this is a fascinating story. I love how you write each of the characters and I'm looking forward to your next chapter.
Artificial Life Creator chapter 1 . 7/1/2013
"But you know there is one, right? That gravity doesn't go away because you click your heels together three times and chant 'There's no place like orbit'?"" I likes this one.
"Because that will help you calm down, and I'd rather not have to ask Dr. Crusher to tranquilize you." I likes this one too.
LeonCaboose chapter 5 . 6/15/2013
Wonderfully done! You are a very talented writer. I look forward to the next chapter.
Jadeblueafterglow17 chapter 3 . 6/4/2013
"You stabbed me with a bayonet!" Don't hold a grudge or anything! You completely had me hooked with this chapter. I was all into this banter between Wesley and Q. How amazing would it be if Q and Wesley could create a bridge as he and the Traveler did for Wesley's mom! Outstanding premise...more of that please! : )
MarthaRRLeBlanc chapter 5 . 5/28/2013
Awesome Chapter, please update soon. This is truly fascinating and thoughtful thoughts on how a superior being would have differences than a mortal being.
Guest chapter 5 . 5/26/2013
So much I could say, but I'll settle with 'keep it up!'
Deritine chapter 5 . 5/23/2013
I literally did a happy dance when I saw this update- thanks for posting!

That was a mental work out! I did like all the moral/ethical considerations, though a couple of times it did feel a bit redundant. That may be partly because I read back previous chapters since it has been a while. It is a very cool idea... and why stop at 2? He could make 2 copies and then have a buddy. It will probably be harder to keep it from happening... since that would be terrible for the plot.

And some of the emotional stuff, I think, could have been better left implied or gone over more succinctly. But that could be me liking stoic, non-communicative characters haha.

I did notice, too, that you use the word 'die' a lot, especially when Q is talking. Synonyms would be good.
Gatherer chapter 5 . 5/21/2013
I'm afraid I still prefer rude Q to sensitive Q.
Viviane Renard chapter 5 . 5/21/2013
I'm so thrilled that we got another chapter. It's a great story, and I'm glad to see that it's still on your radar. I really liked Q's conversation with Troi. As a counselor, she has a unique perspective that hits uncomfortably close to home for Q, which always reveals interesting truths from him. I also really enjoyed from their conversation the anecdote about how betazoid twins used to be treated due to their two-bodies-one-mind issue. It not only helped further Q's own plans to "escape death while dying," but was fascinating in itself.

My only piece of constructive criticism for this otherwise perfect chapter, is that I felt Data's internal monologue went on for too long. While I liked getting his perspective, I felt that as the paragraphs went on, they started to repeat similar sentiments with slightly different wording. If you could condense his thoughts into fewer paragraphs that say the same thing (made a rational decision to risk his life that he does not regret, feels some form of guilt if he lets someone die without trying, finds Q's plan more reasonable than the Captain because of his different thought process), I feel that the reader would benefit from the faster pacing.

Everything else, I loved! You're a talent writer with a very good grasp on the Star Trek universe. It's a delightful combo.
hermione-of-vulcan chapter 5 . 5/20/2013
I've been wanting to review this, but I've found it difficult to find what to say, because it's like reviewing a Star Trek episode. If they'd decided to make Deja Q into a two-part episode, this should have been the second part because it fits so well and feels so much like an actual episode.

Two things I want to comment on in particular:
Selar reminding Q of Suzy Q is quite amusing, since they were played by the same actress. Nice little in-joke you slipped in there.
And the Q with a small blue box who was always curious and bubbly - that must be a reference to Doctor Who. I always thought they were related…
