3DBABE1999 chapter 1 . 9/26/2013 *Wipes away tears*.. This was just.. *sobs* my heart breaks for poor Sam, it must have been so hard growing up without a mom, especially when no one hardly talked about her.. Poor Sammy had no memories of his mom and all he did have was what his dad and big brother would tell him, she was Sammy's too, just as much as she was theirs.. Ow my heart.. |
Headoverheels14 chapter 1 . 7/10/2012 Tear jerker! Wow! I really wanted to cry at the end. So bittersweet...great work! |
ccase13 chapter 1 . 9/25/2011 Sam would have the most need for pictures since he was too young for any actual memories. |
Guest chapter 1 . 7/28/2011 Again with the tears and the tissues and my sudden insane urge to hug you for writing this ! T_T There, there Sammy and Dean... |
Twilight in my Eyes chapter 1 . 3/2/2009 First of all, excellent job. I love the one-shots that deal with what could be an innocent mistake in any other family, but is actually something very significant to the Winchesters. It just shows how different they are and how much misfortune has fallen upon them. Secondly, I'm not sure if anyone else caught it, but I remember the photo you used. It appeared twice in the pilot, I recall. When I read the description, I knew it sounded familiar to me from somewhere. Anyway, I want to compliment you on using an actual prop from the show. It may be a little thing in the bigger picture, but when a fan utilizes everything possible (no matter how small) I think it shows just how much effort and heart went into a piece of fiction. Amazing. I love it, and thank you. |
amyblair chapter 1 . 8/16/2008 Hey, Gemini - getting to a couple more of yours. I just finished my last story and I wanted to read the rest of yours. Loked that you used some speedmetal in this - Megadeath. Don't always see people use that one. Nice. Loved how the family is strained and falling apart and Dean has to just lay the tools out to get ready to make silver. I use to have bad growing pains in my calves, too. I know what Sam felt like. Loved your use of matching magnet ends, veering away and I also absolutely loved Dean would be responsible for keeping the house buttoned up. Total great and perfect. I lost my mom, too, and although it wasn't very long ago you do forget sounds and touches and the way their hands looked like. I think that always leave holes. Lovely job. Thanks. Blair |
Stoneage Woman chapter 1 . 5/16/2008 Lovely. Beautiful. Heartbreaking. I loved your distinction between private grief and the kind Sam wants Dean to hear. My favorite line: He should have come with an instruction manual. That just cracked me up. Awesome job! |
catie-writes-things chapter 1 . 4/10/2008 This was absolutely amazing. You did a wonderful job capturing the dysfunctional dynamic of the Winchester family, especially how Dean steps up to the plate to take care of them, despite all of his own issues. It's really quite poignant. Beautiful writing. |
tanpopo no hana chapter 1 . 1/24/2008 I can't imagine how hard that day must be on them, especially on John. Damn him for never talking about anything though! Once again Sam's really lucky to have Dean around to make things right... Thanks for writing, I really enjoyed it! |
sodakey chapter 1 . 1/21/2008 Loved the end moment. I always liked in the series when Dean would say something new and Sam would say "You never told me that." Like he was sure Dean told him everything, even when he knew he didn't. I like these moments between the Winchesters. Lately, I'm all about non-case fics, fics about down time and the random moments between (which I'm sure there are many of, if I took the time to look for them). In the meantime, this fits the bill. |
MeShelly chapter 1 . 8/17/2007 What a sweet, wistful moment. I really liked how Sam is struggling to deal with missing someone that he has no memories of, and how that forces him to mourn differently-even perceived differently by his family. "Did you really think I wouldn't?" The friction between them is so...tragic. I also liked how Dean was able to jump straight to the conclusion of what could have happened, given Sam's 'confession'. The little insight about Sam's hair was also adorable-maybe he remembers *that* subconsciously? :P "...and some were to precious, even to give to Sam." Poor Dean. This sentence just tugged at me, mourning and remembering on his own, while tearing his hair out worrying about his family now. "It never ceased to amaze Dean, what Sam would put up with coming from him as opposed to their father." LOL, probably because Sam calls Dean a dumbass rather often, too. I loved that section, though I can't point out exactly why. John's grief was no less sad, but damn: you've got two kids that have lost a mother, too. "She just wanted..." It kind of sucks, that he *knows* what Mary would have wanted, but is only doing what he thinks he can do to keep them safe. Very nice pre-series piece; thanks for sharing. ~Michelle |
