![]() ![]() ![]() wow that's deep good job though |
![]() ![]() ![]() This is a stunning insight into the themes of lost innocence and stripped humanity - a bleak yet fascinating peek into the dyanamics of the Social Welfare Agency every bit on a par with (and, in more than a few areas, utterly surpassing) the original Gunslinger Girl series' most heartrending installments. Flawlessly blending darkness (insecurity, anxiety, frustration and inevitability) with light (friendship, love, independence and fun), your narrative wonderfully captures this heady mix with poignant dialogue and simple yet brutally effective imagery. Rarely does a work inspire such empathy from the reader as yours does - you imbue Beatrice and Bernado, disappointingly bland in the original series, with so much character (the ignorance, naivety and stiff-upper-lip tighten-your-belt attitude they display that keeps them on the right side of desperation only makes their situation more tear-jerkingly sad) that I cannot help but feel deeply for them - and the effect is one that lasts long after one comes to its tragic conclusion. All in all, a splendid composition whose heartfelt story is one readers cannot miss and will never forget. Highly recommended. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I said it before, and I'll say it again: your writing is clear, efficient, and evocative. I can see what's happening in my head, everything fits together logically, and I like your depiction of the characters, even though I know nothing about the universe in question. Well-written stuff, this. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Man that was a great story. A very sad ending. I guess Bernardo will have to work harder to get her to open up. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Poignant end that hits like a knife to my heart. Sad, skirting the border of tragic. *sniffles, then bawls* BICE! A good story. Great job, buddy. Keep it up! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Sweetness. I so wanted to hug all the girls in this one. _ My only beef is that Bernardo was able to carry Beatrice so easily. Mechanical bodies are very heavy for their side. I delighted in the way Jean's "power" was established towards the end: the only man who could call anyone because he was who he was. Scary man. _ Well done! |
![]() ![]() ![]() KAWAII! KAWAII KAWAII BICE! *huggles, laughs* Jean and Rico's manner of persuading Gobetti to "sing" made me laugh. Jean, though, lets his dislike of terrorists get in the way of his usual calm. Torture is a very unreliable method of extracting information. But... hell, an aluminum bat to the shins is always stress-relieving. _ A fun-to-read story! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Cute. There were times when I didn't like the prose very much due to wording or stiffness, and Beatrice's "resolved" personality felt very awkward coming from (what your 'fic says) a normally apathetic girl, but I greatly enjoyed the cameos from other OCs. Also, I liked this bit in particular: "If I could find the time I could teach you. I'm supposed to teach Angelica how to play, too. I could start a class!" |
![]() ![]() ![]() Poor, poor Benny. Bicé is nearly normal, then becomes an automaton once again. Nicely done, bittersweet ending - excellent! |
![]() ![]() ![]() cute cameos ('specially 'Naldo) followed by a mildly tragic ending... brought a chuckle and a sniffle. Excellent job. |
![]() ![]() ![]() hehe... too cute. I like this personality you've made for little Bicé. oh, and Rico's awesome. yeay 4 teh basbawl bhat! *ahem* I mean, uh... you get that dirty, sick bastard, Rico. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Sinfully, good. The ups and downs of the entire cyborg-handler process. An original idea worthy of more than a little merit. |
