Hiya - I just finished this one in its entirety and I loved it. The different layers of friendship, the nuances and complexities of emotions Rodney - and Shep - struggles with is beautifully depicted. And the memories of Carson...I miss him dreadfully! On now to more of your stories, and thank you for bringing such scenes to life! :-)

Oh my, this is what I was longing for and the show could never give us without the shocking, senseless plot device of an exploding tumor. When they gave us Rodney hurting enough that he needed to imagine his late friend Carson showing up to forgive him, you know Rodney was pretty messed up. Thanks for taking it the next step over, and for having John there to offer the much-needed comfort.

Your portrayal of both John and Rodney was dead spot on, with John displaying his inability to verbalize coupled with an ability to show how he was feeling, and Rodney trying and ultimately failing to restrain the emotions he would've freely shown in Carson's presence.

That was nice. Very in character and makes complete sense that Sheppard would be the one McKay would finally open up to.

You really captured the dialogue and I could just picture the scene in my head.

And the ending was a nice light touch - I loved the sentiment of Rodney giving the pyramid to John, but I also love the LOL moment of John spitting on it to clean it and Rodney's horror! ;)

Wow...if I didn't know that Joe Mallozzi announced the other day that he's bringing Carson back in a 2-part episode in season 4, (our REAL Carson; not a ghost, not an AU version, etc. YAY!) I'd be crying like a baby from reading your story! Great job!

Good story, The program didnt really expand on the feelings of Carsons friends.I would think Rodney would have the most difficulty as he had no friends to speak of before Carson, then to lose him, especially when he feels he could have changed things by going fishing with him. I would think that would just about drive him crazy.
