Well... I do think he is sweet but I still wanna slap him! Lol. His behavior behavior and actions were still disrespectful, inconsiderate and they hurt Anne, even if unconsciously done... If she would've acted like that...

Beautifully written. I do think that Captain Wentworth, being a man of excellent character, would want to know that the entire neighborhood believes he has a mistress. I don't think he would allow these "visits" to continue if he knew they were hurting his wife. Honestly, the fact that these visits even exist is a little sketchy.

Oh, my gosh! This was so sweet! I had a moment of doubt, right along with Anne, but Frederick showed his true colors and his even truer, most steadfast love and infatuation with his wife! This was so believable, and the fact that it very well could possibly have happened had the story continued is one of the reasons that Persuasion is among my favorite stories of all time!

I truly loved your short story. I think it explored the potential insecurities Anne may have felt, or would have felt (had Austen actually continued with "Persuasion" into their future) about other women around Frederick. I enjoyed the character dynamics and it made me smile. Thanks!

very sweet...love it...
| TheLadyW chapter 1 . 1/3/2012
Even the most confident people occasionally have doubts... but who wouldn't be cheered by Wentworth's heartwarming admission?
This short little story echoes the original Persuasion very well.

Nearly broke my heart! So adorable and lovely! Beautifully written and VERY in-character! You almost had me fooled when Anne heard their laughter! Good job

I loved this, in particular the characterization of Anne, which is spot on: everything she does is always so private. Just beautiful, and of course Frederick's coming to her at the end and his words were fantastic.
