I’m so sorry to hear that you’ve been through so much. I haven’t read this story in years and it’s still just as good as I remembered. I hope at some time you are able to complete it, I’d love to see where they all go from here. You have also mentioned writing Sentinel fan fiction. I love this whole thing. This whole story. I love the lifting and moving of the capstone and the description wrapped around it. Of the earth being commanded to hold the capstone. Another clue revealed, but not understood at the time. The Lord kneeling to Harry, pledging to fight along side him in the coming war. Everything connects. Everything builds upon somethings else. Nothing you write is filler or wasted. It’s all important and it’s all captivating. Have I mentioned that I friggin love this story?!

I really like this part of the winter lands arc. Them coming upon the Keep and the men listening to Harry and our three rescuers confusion about it all, it’s such a light fun and heartwarming moment. And the moment Severus sees and we see what Harry realizes about himself and his position in their world, is very powerful.

This chapter threw me for a loop when I first read it. I was like, where are we, why is Harry here, what the hell is going on? It felt so jarring and out of left field, but everything, makes sense. Everything adds up and has a purpose and I saw that eventually. And this soon became one of my favorite parts of your story. Upon 2nd read I was able to appreciate this chapter in particular more. And the moment when the carnage happens is written so well. I’m always so immersed in the horror of it and the bloody, scene Harry is suddenly in the middle of it. This is like my 4 or 5th read and it never fails to give me that same feeling of immersion and horror.

Is it bad that I had a laugh about your letter when you say ‘apparently I died in 2013 and someone forgot to send me the memo’. I do hope that wasn’t Umbridge as we all know how unreliable she is with these things.

I can’t say I’ve ever commented on this fic despite the many times I’ve read it. I think this read through would have to be the fourth, possibly fifth read through I’ve done.

I think it being incomplete actually makes me more likely to read through it as odd as that sounds. At least this way I can believe that Harry wakes up and the goes and kills Voldemort and no one else has to die and they all live happily ever after xD the way this gif has gone so far tells me that probably was never going to be the case.

This fic stays with me every time I finish it like no other fic does. It’s one of the best fics I’ve ever read.

Some of the scenes are so clear even a year or so post reread. Some of the ones that always stay with me are: regulus under the troll (so grotesque, it sends a shiver down me), Severus and sirius together in the ministry hallway dueling people, Remus Severus and sirius in the boat to the winter lands and Severus clenching the coat, draco walking into the great hall with the dragon gold around his neck like it’s a prize and finally, the horror harry feels as he realises what the missing spaces in the circle are.

The fic has always felt very put together. I don’t read through it and pic up on the inconsistencies within it. I’ve never had that with this one and it makes it all the better.

Love this chapter. The cure for lycanthropy was such a surprise. And you’re right, it’s strange the wizarding world can mend/grow bones, and preform other forms of incredible healing, but not have a solution for poor eye sight.

You know, upon reread, I always think I’ll skip or skim over the world building exposition scenes. But then, like now, I find myself reading it all over again, just immersed and entertained. It’s a credit to your wonderful writing. I never skip or skim anything upon reread. I think, as you mentioned in your note, that having it from the outsiders perspective was a great choice and what keeps the exposition fresh and interesting.

This chapter reminded me of another reason I love your story. Conversations, events that happen, are so unexpected. A lot of fics follow a bear or pattern, same with tv shows and movies. I don’t really mind that, but when you find something that has its own rhythm, it’s so refreshing and unique and keeps you on your toes. This confrontation is so one of a kind and I love how it even throws Severus for a loop, until it again boils down to Harry and then admitting something very important that they missed. It’s sad and beautiful.

I love Remus.

I love everything you’ve done with Remus and Sirius. There wasn’t enough of these two in the movies. I feel like you’ve really made all of the characters your own. And this may be because I’ve only ever watched the movies, but I was never very much invested in the character of Harry himself. He just seems like some generic hero figure which nothing much to him besides being the boy who lived. You’ve added lovely layers and insight into your Harry and I love this version of him in particular. Also, adore a jealous Snape, even though I do feel bad for him too.
