However, I was so disappointed when the London premiere occurred that Anne Hathaway was excusing herself in Canada. Neither shared the same space in any interviews regarding this wonderful film.

Oh how I wished they had kissed again on the DVD as you wrote. But sadly, only once and then she kissed his hands while hiding in the shadows.

If there was a different ending, I wish it were the way you discribed it. It was lovingly written and more realistic in how one would express themself if one had hunger and remorse for knowing that the one you loved were to leave. James McAvoy said in an interview that there were many letters between them, which Ms. Austin burned.

In the film it showed the family being able to walk home from this grand place during the daylight. At night, I suppose many would have seen them on the road had they walked together away from the ball.

Where are you if you saw it "airing" so late and couldn't have the DVD beforehand.

Wonderfully written, due mostly to your contrasting young and old, beginnings and endings, and perception from experience. I can hardly wait to read more. I am concurrently watching "Becoming Jane" (which I've watched shamefully over ten times).

English is not my native language so I had a lot of difficulties watching and trying to understand the lines in movie which I liked so much :)

And then I found your "Vignettes" and... I am so grateful to you! Because now I can understand some scenes (very precious to me) much better.

And I wanted to ask whether you plan writing it further...

The story ends with a promise of continuation but there is no one :)

Anyway, even if you got out of it I thank you very much for what you've already done!

"He then began to read a passage about the reproduction of insects."

Well, this isn't right. The passage is about the mating of birds, not insects, which gives the line "…the female utters a loud, piercing cry of ecstasy," more sense. By the by, **fanning self** McAvoy's reading of that line! OMG! **fainting**

These vignettes are so good, and yet so heartbreaking. **sigh**

I really like what you did here. Especially with his sudden departure because of disappointing her.

Again wonderful characterisation, the difference between them being that he is bound to social conventions and Jane in the laxer country is not.

So real and the characters are simply astounding! I love it...please update soon!

You're going to finish these, right? Because, I have to say... I NEVER got a chance to see the movie (due to rather.. interesting circumstances) and seeing as Im in America (where the movie won't come out on DVD until December!) fics such as this, youtube, and the occasional spoiler are ALL I HAVE!

Plus, your writing is very true to their circumstances (though I havn't seen the movie, I know their tale very well *sniff*) so please, write more! :D

I loved this scene, and of course the whole movie! It was so artfully done, with such care to detail and every glance was significant, such as that all-knowing, tinged with sadness look when Mrs Radcliffe watches Jane and Tom walk down the stairs.
