Your A/N just made me explode. I don't know why, but just that blunt first sentence killed me.

This was... an unexpected yet expected ending.
... Not sure if that made sense.
To be honest though, I thought it'd be Hikaru that chooses her over Kaoru, since even though in the anime Kaoru was the one making the decisions, he chose Hikaru over Haruhi. Though I suppose it would be more original if it's different...
Well, I loved this story, even though I wouldn't reread it. I don't mean it in a offensive way, but more like the this-story-gave-me-a-lot-of-feels-and-I-wouldn't-be-able-to-take-it-a-second-time way.

| Jingyee1511 chapter 18 . 5/15/2014
A brilliantly done fic! Your fic wonderfully explored what it meant to love and the idea of choice, as well as how Haruhi may wrongly assume that she knows best, as well as the darker corners of the twins personality. I also think it a stroke of genius that you made Kaoru buy a phD's work for his history assignment, yet Haruhi going out of her way to pass him his abysmal history essay allowing him to understand that there is something worth more than A. Another stroke of brilliance to see her contradict herself about the significance of an A. I really like Haruhi's planning in order to make the twins make up, and the twins discernment in how she walks out of people's lives as though she doesn't count... Of course, the plenty of fun Haruhi had with the twins was really sweet to watch. Most of all, your writing is brilliant! Really good and draws me in to read chapter after chapter after chapter. Thank you so much for your sharing!

I haven't watched the OHSHC in so long but even then, I still distinctly remember each character's personality and history several years later.
You've got their personalities down to the H-T.
Haruhi's approach to romance is very Haruhi. I'm glad that you did not have her choose in the end because as much as this was a 'romance' story, I still felt like she is not the type of person to fall in love so easily. Even the Hitachiin twin's love was sort of quick-paced because I felt like even though Haruhi is the first person to see them as two individuals, that shouldn't immediately warrant love. Having said that though, you did develop everything else nicely. Their interactions, arguments, resolutions, and so forth. All of it was very believable in their realm. Tamaki's advice, I felt, was a bit off though... part of what he said was true in that if someone loves you, they'd do anything for you (well, this is a bit debatable actually) and Haruhi, in the first place, has never felt any true romantic feelings for them which is why I thought that was a bit of a cop-out. It was almost like a, I don't truly love any of you two but if one of you actually comes forth, then I guess you'll do. Because did she not say she felt more of a 'sibling' vibe towards Kaoru and just a physical attraction towards Hikaru? Ahh, but what's done is done. Besides those small parts I mentioned, everything else you did was great. The final resolution, however puzzled I was on the side, is a fitting end to their story.

Wow, well that was an unexpected way to end things, but I was happy with who you chose. Great and enjoyable plot indeed (and I just loved how you managed to include Tamaki into the story; bravo).
