I've always thoght it odd that Dean(and John) tried to protect Sammy from knowing monsters were real rather than assuring him often that no matter what they would not let monsters hurt him.
| page chapter 1 . 1/22/2011
that was sweet :)
| mary-v chapter 1 . 4/27/2008

| Lirazel chapter 1 . 7/19/2007
I've just started watching this show, and recently finished up with Season 1 and made it into Season 2. I've been surprised at how much I like it, about how much I care about these characters quite aside from the fact that they're insanely attractive.
I care about them because they care so desperately about each other, even if their ways of showing it are different than anyone else's. This story reminded me why.
And the last line ripped my gut out. Perfect. Perfect.
| Tigger101 chapter 1 . 5/10/2007
Poor Dean... how old is he in this... TEN?
I haven't watched much Supernatural so I don't know whether Dean would have known about his father's... job when he was that young, but if he did, it was very effective.
It certainly explains alot.
You portrayed little kids very well too - at least you didn't dumb them down. *rolls eyes*
| Arinia chapter 1 . 5/6/2007
Both excellent and sad.

Ooh, I like this. Sam's sympathy for the tootsie pop kid made me crack up, and Dean's repertoire of, um, nicknames for his brother is awesome. Also, ow. God, I so would not have wanted to be there for the 'why yes, Sammy, there are monsters' conversation.
