vendy chapter 22 . 8/9/2024
Thanks a lot for finishing the short story, I'm happy! it always saddens me when I come across unfinished ones, even though I know it's been a long time, I still enjoy reading those stories. I'm looking forward to the sequel and I'm going to keep reading :-) sorry for uncle Google
Margaret.Lengyel chapter 61 . 6/30/2024
It's 2024 and I am still waiting for a sequel. This story is too good not to have a continuation. Looking forward to hearing from you soon.
mieldelavie chapter 61 . 5/23/2024
Wasn’t expecting to enjoy this story as much as I did. The slow burn was done to perfection, and the characterization of snape was one of the best I’ve seen. 10/10 would read again
Merlie chapter 61 . 3/19/2024
Amazing story!
cinhtay chapter 22 . 1/31/2024
good, a slap here seems precise what he needed.
Guest chapter 61 . 1/4/2024
Great read. One of my favourite mentor Snape fics. The character interactions felt so real and the plot was super intriguing...I like the fact that Snape and Harry take time to warm up to each other, it's slow burn guardianship? I had a lot of fun reading and re reading it. Thanks a lot for posting this, hope you're well.
Fangirl100202 chapter 1 . 1/2/2024

Well, it ~was~ a long and painful slog. I'm so glad it ended hopefully for both HP and SS, my favorite character, who was so dreadfully treated in canon. You made both of them more three-dimensional.

Unexpected but fitting that you showed him closest to Sprout, with her kindred interests (Herbology so critical for Potions) and her 'Puff's industrious, fair. and loyal nature. Great catch, that.

My own conviction is that in canon Pomfrey understood him best and did not doubt him that last horrible year, having seen the great wounds that his father, the Marotters (so-apposite sobriquet from Alethea27), Riddle, and Dumbles all gouged into his body as well as his soul. He would have appreciated her discretion as well as her care, and neither would have spoken of it.

Thank you very much.

I had to look it up, but I bet Snape would know from the adder's coloration that yes, he ~is~ male. He's also a refreshing break from the general depression. Hope to see a bit more of him.

Thanks!

"...tried to simply ~be~." I think he's hit upon it at last and hope for his starting to progress in Occlumency.
guest chapter 12 . 12/13/2023
Ah yes, both grimly set on denial and out to suppress any glimmers of insight that contradict it. Characters well shown, as were those in the previous chapter. Kudos.
guest chapter 11 . 12/13/2023
About 2/3 of the way down the chapter, and utterly fed up. That arrant moral coward Lupin has a bleeding lot of nerve slandering the man that he and his bully-gang tortured for seven everlasting years and that he personally tried to tear apart. And Snape's been making Wolfsbane - however grudgingly - for the scum all this time, too. Slavemaster Dumbles should stop his inveterate smarmy dissimulation ~right~now~ and state unequivocally that Snape didn't hurt the brat!

A couple inches further down: well whaddya know, Potter is at least honest - good for him! More than anyone could ever say for Lupin; too bad he won't crawl back under his rock. And Dumbles again just smiles. Typical; I may puke. Of course neither of the two "adults," if I may so profane the term, would ever think of apologizing to Snape for the slander. Instead they all three proceed to celebrate, force Snape to watch it, and then promptly forget him. Sweet. I can only entertain myself with the fantasy of Snape's visiting a reagent supplier for some silver nitrate.

Hi, there. I'm starting this with some trepidation, knowing the fic is of high quality but often painful to read. May well have to stop reading, temporarily or not, depending on my own circumstances. Please don't take that as a criticism if it happens. Ditto that I won't have the energy to review much. I do appreciate (in both senses) the great effort you've put in to create and polish this work. Thank you! and best of luck in all you do.

Re. this chapter, beautifully done - fine descriptions and characterization. May there be some glimmer of hope for the good.
