![]() ![]() I continue to be so thrilled that I found/ redound this fic. I’m so excited, no, beyond excited that you decided to write more chapters. You have blessed the HP fanfic community. So, thank you. |
![]() ![]() I want to reiterate how thrilling I am that this story is continuing. I enjoyed the last two chapters so very much. Thank you. |
![]() ![]() Hi, I have been after a very long hiatus I have been rereading Snape/Harry fics. Since about March of 2023 I’ve been obsessively rereading HP Snape and Harry fics. I’ve reread Invocare Parts 1 and 2. I’ve reread Resonance. I have reread Oliver Snape, The Best Revenge, Mine, etc., etc., etc. I started rereading your fic too, obviously. I just wanted to let know that I’m so glad it’s no longer a wip. I’m excited to see what happens next. I have always remembered this fic very fondly. I adore your characterization of Harry and especially Snape. I am so thrilled that there is more now. Thank you for that. Now, on to the next chapter. Yay! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Hello! Wow that was great! I loved reading your story. It's one of my favorites. You managed to present a new aspect of the characters through the development of the plot. Their characteristics make them very realistic! May I ask if you have started writing a sequel to the story? I really hope so! Hope to read more of your work soon! All the best. Elena. |
![]() ![]() ![]() What a remarkable piece of writing! I’ve enjoyed this story so much, and I already want to go back to chapter 1 and start again. Well done! |
![]() ![]() What a shame that you never wrote a sequel to this. Honestly a really good story. |
![]() ![]() "Harry could feel his face drain of color. Remus was under the Imperius Curse? The fact that Snape had been right all along to suspect him of being cursed threw his world off balance." Honestly, I'm becoming more and more sympathetic to the people who hate the kid, because he keeps acting like a goddamn moron. |
![]() ![]() "That, and his scar was starting to twinge. He probably ought to mention that…" But, like an idiot, he didn't and won't. I'm really starting to understand why Snape hates him so much. It's just endlessly frustrating to watch that kind of self-righteous self-destructiveness. |
![]() ![]() "nothingness in the brain" That's such a hilariously teenager way to phrase it, I couldn't help laughing. Well done. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Chuckling dang hard over here at what a *teenager* Harry is being this chapter, from the cranky mood at the start to his devilish idea to eavesdrop at the end. I love the part where he decides to be miffed at Pomfrey just for having the gall to enjoy their long trek. I equally love the fact that Snape is in as foul a mood as Harry and my god I can foresee those boys struggling quite a bit in future when they're sharing a wavelength like this. Bite first, ask questions later is rather the modus operandi of both xD But how weirdly touching is it that even in a cantankerous mood, Snape still notices when Harry is uncomfortable with Remus' handsy protectiveness!? I feel like the tension between these three might yet rear its head again in the sequel. I could totally see Remus feeling a little jealous and/or disappointed in himself when he sees how Harry bonded so fiercely to Snape rather than him, the last Marauder. And Snape is just insecure enough to perhaps feel jealous at times himself. Like with Lily, when he loves someone, he loves HARD, and that usually translates to an almost obsessive desire to covet and protect them. I think it'll be interesting! Your Dumbledore is seriously one of my favorite incarnations. And something I have always loved about this story is how Snape and Harry became close on their own, not because they were pushed into it by Dumbledore's machinations as you see in many other stories. Not that I don't enjoy that trope, but it sometimes lends itself to a more Machiavellian Dumbledore whereas I prefer the more kindly grandfather figure... and, it's far far more satisfying to see it unfold without his influence because now it is more meaningful; more natural. I take immense delight in watching the play by play between Dumbledore and Harry after Harry arrives at Headquarters. Dumbledore shocked and confused beyond his normally placid exterior as he tries to understand Snape's reasoning is most fun to read. I love that even Harry himself doesn't understand why the man reacted like he did yet. It's sad but telling that he can't see why Snape would want him removed; in his mind it's not abuse, it's normal. And more telling that he wouldn't say anything to Dumbledore about the circumstances leading up to their escape. Thankfully, Snape has no such qualms! |
![]() ![]() I am speechless right now. It's was a beautiful one. I loved this. Epilogue was best. I enjoyed it so much. I will wait for the sequel. |
![]() ![]() LOL. Watching Harry torture Snape by being disgusting while eating—he’s had plenty of practice watching Ron—is so amusing. A Snape sneer or nauseated look is appearing in my mind and it’s a great mental image for those times I reread the series and hate Snape. A great job so far! This has started quite nicely as a story, a bit dissimilar from many of its kind in that Snape lives with Harry and not the other way around and Snape’s no longer doing Death Eater work as his cover is already blown. They’re in Privet Drive also—can’t wait to see how that blows up. Assuredly, it will—you cannot hide a displeased, cantankerous grown man in your tiny bedroom with nosy relatives for long, and Snape will no doubt make blunders, still thinking Harry is a spoiled, pampered prince. That codger sure has blinkers on when it comes to Harry, and not in a good way: |
![]() ![]() ![]() This was amazing! Hands down the best fic I’ve read; you kept them in such great characterization all throughout ! Thank you for the read |
![]() ![]() ![]() Okay so it is really kind of funny to see Remus in the position of trying to "protect" Harry from Snape and assuming the worst of him, when in another twenty-ish chapters the tables turn almost drastically the other way! It is WEIRD reading this solicitous Remus when the one most fresh in my mind is the post-kidnapped Remus and all his many... problems. Ha. I do so love that 180. Because we all know who we're really here to read about ;) Also love love love that you bring up Harry's response to the Dementor question again in "Muggle Healing Magic". That has to be eating away at Snape, and rightfully so - that incomplete answer leaves a lot of confusion to one not in the know! Gigglesnorts at Harry wondering if Dumbledore hadn't led Snape into the middle of nowhere so that he couldn't refuse medical attention. Slytherin manipulations indeed! Apparently he quite needed it with all the potions Pomfrey was pushing at him. It's just like him to have been much worse off than he let on. Harry choosing to do his exam with Snape and AHH HE GETS TO SEE THE FULL EXTENT OF HIS BRUISING/INJURIES. More numerous than he even realized, oh I do so love the way he comes flying up to get a better look with his unreadable face on! Plus how he goads Harry into having to explain himself and his reactions to Harry's fumbling lies! Ahhh SO GOOD. Honorable mention to Pomfrey and her no-nonsense attitude with Snape and Harry, neither of whom are listening to her AT ALL xD Most difficult patients ever, those two! "He should have known right away when he woke up crying and clinging to Snape that this day wasn't going on the top of his list of best birthdays ever" - no... but definitely onto ours! xD This was always such a fun chapter with the constant wondering, when would the charade be up, how would Harry's secret eventually come to light? I'm glad you drew it out like you did! And of course, who can't resist a Snape now in the know and all his snide veiled comments? *chef kiss* Perfection al dente! |
![]() ![]() ![]() SQUEE SQUEE SQUEE! This is always one of my favorite chapters to re-read! You've got THE HUG, the Dursley confrontation, Snape's unplanned offer to take Harry with him... IT'S SO GOOD! I always savor every blessed word you write when it comes to tender moments between Snape and Harry, and truly, few authors compare. You have this uncanny ability to pen Snape/Harry's early hugs in such a way that I'm laughing as much as I'm swooning. Harry's pure panic, the way he CLINGS to Snape, and the man's hesitation until deciding nothing for it but to pull Harry in because it's not working to push him away. I think that little moment is rather huge! Then, the way Harry burrows in, and how Snape's heartbeat and smell lull him back down from the throes of terror. GUH. And then - HILARIOUSLY - the immediate change of mood as Harry realizes who's holding him. Snape's awkward unease, Harry's horror. Oh man. CRACK I TELL YOU. And the fact that you go so far as to mention the wet spot on Snape's chest... DOUBLE GUH! The way you wrote the Dursleys' reaction was fantastic. Dudley barricading his door OMG xD Sadistically I quite liked Vernon jostling Harry's bad shoulder even further and Snape's delicious little tells that hint to his decision to come. His eyes on the shoulder, his stiffening, his uncharacteristic uncertainty. And Harry, oh Harry, trying not to appear weak. He nearly breaks me with his "Go... just go." And then of course I'm whooping with delight when Snape pulls the wand on Vernon - "I would suggest you remove your hands from your nephew, Mr Dursley" ;_; HE DID IT HE DID IT HE DID IT Thoroughly amused by Snape's weed enhancing spell and more than a little smiling over the fact that it was completely unnecessary revenge, yet he does it for Harry. Not that the man would ever admit to that. Oh no. I LOVE that "Unusual Creatures" comes up again later in the most powerful way. Love love love. One of the reasons why your story is one of THE BEST - you always end up bringing things full circle! |
