Oh gosh. I read this way back in - what was it, 2011 or 2012, when it was much shorter and mostly just the camp stuff? And only just recently I've come to poke my head back in the AR fandom (realizing how bad my own fics of that time had been, when I was in high school still) and saw this on rec list after alec list and thought wait - the one where alex went back to the SAS? Werent there like 5 million of those? But WOW, what it has turned into since! This is amazing - so much catharsis- and I could see as I went through how the fic had matured with you, and the psychology and relationships and healing that are happening! I love it! I am so excited for the rewrite, and seeing what that can look like so many years and a novel length (quite more I think) story later. Kudos to you (yeah I live on ao3 now, I'm not around here so much anymore), hats off to a wonderful story, I'm glad I stuck with the reread of the beginning to see all the amazing things that have happened sense!

This story is so good! It’s my favorite Alex Rider story! Your writing is so good and the way you handle the things that Alex is going through is amazing. I just finished rereading this again and every time I can’t put the story down. I know what happens and I still can’t put it down. I can’t help but notice it’s been a few months since you’ve updated. Mostly because I check daily to see if you’ve posted another chapter. It’s a struggle because I Am absolutely OBSESSED with this story and your writing and the direction you’ve taken it. I’ve ready through it 3 times already, over the years, and have been following HIOP since I found it years ago, before Tom had ever let slip about Alex (story line wise).
Also, I would cherish another chapter or 10 from you to get me through this lonely, upside down COVID world.
But that brings me back to- are you okay? Are you and your loved ones surviving corona? Do you know how much I respect and appreciate you when I don’t even know you outside of your writings? Besides having over three thousand comments, you might want to check if you are the longest writing fan fiction writer. You must like in your late twenties at early thirties at least. Wow

I got back to Alex rider because of the TV series to see that you’re still updating this. I really love this story and I hope you’ll continue to write.

Okay, so I have a lot of feelings. A friend just sent me this fic two days ago, and I’ve put in HOURS reading it straight through. My Screen Time app says I read 12 straight hours yesterday. I love it so much. The writing is beautiful and clear and concise. The PLOT, oh my god, the PLOT. It’s just wonderful. I love it with every ounce of my being. Thank you so much. And, please, don’t worry about those people saying Alex is OOC. I think he’s VERY in character for a boy who’s been traumatized as much as he has been. I think you’ve done a fantastic job at portraying him. I can’t wait for more, and I hope you can update soon!
