![]() ![]() ![]() Wow. Wow. I’m not sure I remember anything past this chapter from my long-ago reading, so everything from here on out is a complete mystery, and I’m just so excited to find out what you have in store! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Ohhhh. Alex’s increasing feeling of being trapped and his despair and quiet preparations were so well done that my very bones are literally aching in sympathy and feels. Wow. You’re a fantastic writer. Thank you! |
![]() ![]() ![]() That was a really nice goodbye to the camp. Well done. I liked the scene with Alex and all the soldiers in the mess hall. Also, your description of gin rummy sounds like a game that would actually be kind of fun to play! I’ll have to try it sometime. As for Emma - well, she’s not my favorite Austen character, but my family members love her, so we’ll leave it at that. I’ll agree with you that she is certainly interesting though. :) |
![]() ![]() ![]() Awww, poor Alex. :( Well dome writing on such a hard topic. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Yes! Very much liked this chapter! And don’t worry - I too am a rarely-updating but stubbornly-determined-not-to-give-up fanfic writer, and I completely get how life is nuts and comes first. You’re awesome regardless of how frequently your updates come, and in the meantime we all get the chance to read and re-enjoy the parts you’ve already posted! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Aww, good for Manning. :) Don’t know if he’ll be able to do anything, but I always appreciate it when people stand up for Alex. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Action figures! Little plastic action figures! :D If they needed a reminder of how old Alex actually is, that was a great one. |
![]() ![]() hi! just wanted to say that this fic had me on a GIANT rollercoaster and tbh i couldn’t stop reading till i finished it. although, if you’re going to change the camp part up on ao3, could you put both versions up? i love this version so so much. thank you for writing it! 333 |
![]() ![]() I love the fic as-is (you set the standard for camp fics back in the AR golden days!) out of pure nostalgia, so if you post it to AO3, maybe keep the version untouched? Loved this update. Alex beginning to process his emotions and trauma with adults who actually give a damn! I'm sure K-unit and the others will be less...graceful, but loving in their own ways. |
![]() ![]() Love this story |
![]() ![]() fantastic, can't wait for the next chapter. super impressed btw with the amount of dedication it takes to write a story in a relatively lesser known fandom that's the length of a solid 4 full-length novels over *twelve years*. like, that's crazy dedication. kudos. |
![]() ![]() Hello! I’ve just found that you’ve updated and I’ve read everything new and oh my goodness, I missed this Fic! I don’t think anyone is acting out of character, especially Alex, and especially considering what has happened to him in the past couple of months. Thank you so much for continuing it, and I can’t wait to see what happens next. |
![]() ![]() Really enjoying this story keep going you're doing a fantastic job with this |
![]() ![]() ![]() Yes, Alex is a bit OOC, but it makes perfect sense though because of what he's been through in this story as you said. I'm not an expert in psychology but it seems to me like you're doing an amazing job depicting how a teenager might react to all of this - even one as trained as Alex. |
![]() ![]() Not dull! Without this part even the action-part (amazing as it was) will fall flat. Thank you again for another great chapter! |
