| The Dark One Rising chapter 1 . 12/28/2015
This looks like it will be interesting.
| sailormoonserenity99 chapter 12 . 7/11/2014
This story reminds me of 'rose of versailles' and the French Revolution. Even though I don't think people in Saiunkoku would stir up such trouble (only the nobles would, maybe) it's a well written story.
The 'Ryuuki letting shuurei go' part broke my heart.
| ScribbleBin chapter 10 . 7/27/2010
I cried the whole chapter...everyones actions were just perfect and well written, just great chapter.

I read your story last night and went to bed at 4:30 am. I just couldn’t put it down. I must admit that I was taken aback when I read about Seiran’s little problem with alcohol, but apart from that, it is a very fine piece of work. As for your comments at the beginning of the last chapter, I totally agree with you. I also believe that Seiran desires or loves Shuurei even more than Ryuuki does, but he would never take anything away from his brother and would be willing to sacrifice everything he holds dear for his sake. That’s why I like him so much. He sure is no ordinary character. The Seiran in the novels is mysterious and dangerous, yet so sweet and weak. He is a very complex character. To give you an example, in novel 4, p. 208: “…And he had protected him from a ghost of the past, from Meishou, with his broad back. He knew the truth. He had been saved by the existence of this man, before and now…”. He would never admit what he really feels about Ensei. He is as dear to him as Shouka, Shuurei or Ryuuki are, but it just isn’t like him to show his emotions. To understand his feelings and his behavior you have to read the novels and the gaiden that was published last month in Japan. Ryuuki is cute and lovable, but not interesting enough to exercise thought. The only thing he actually does is to sigh for Shuurei and repeat her name constantly, and when not doing so, he cries while embracing pandas. I could never fall for a guy like him, no matter how sweet he might be, and after the events in the last novel, there’s no way Yukino Sai can convince me that Shuurei is actually in love with Ryuuki. That’s why I think the anime is somehow misleading the viewers a little bit. Anyway, I just want to encourage you to finish this fantastic story. Please, don’t leave it like this.
(I’m not a native English speaker, so I apologize for my mistakes).

| Anise Nalci chapter 12 . 12/3/2008
It was an interesting chapter. I loved the drama surrounding Saya, and I also liked everyone's personalities. Wasn't too keen about Seiran/Shuurei, but that's a needle we don't have to pick up.
| Hana Yen chapter 12 . 10/31/2008
Wow, your story's getting more and more exciting - I love the way you write! Looking forward to a next chapter :)
| KT chapter 12 . 8/24/2008
Thank you very much for the update. I am quite glad that Saya did not have to die. It was very generous of Kouyuu to save Saya's life and even forgiving her in the process. In my opinion, Saya is actually a very good match for Kouyuu as both are from similar backgrounds (for Kouyuu did endure poverty before he was adopted) and the personalities of the two are quite alike upon close examination. I am very interested in how you will develop this story. Thank you once again for the hard work and please update soon.

| Twilight Cherry chapter 11 . 8/2/2008
I love Seiran but I still prefer Shuurei with Ryuuki...
| jacksparrow589 chapter 11 . 7/6/2008
Wow... I read the majority of this story in about 2 hours (having read about half of it before), and I have to say, I'm just as impressed as when I first read it. The quality of your writing has gotten better and better, having originally been very good anyway. You have a way of adding detail that is subtle, yet a very distinct picture is created. I could see Kouyuu dying there, and it almost made me cry!
I'd like to know the connection between Shuuei and Saya. (Kougarou, maybe? That's my guess at this point.) I also want to see what goes on with Seiran and Shuurei. I do like that pairing, even though I know that Ryuuki would be a great match for Shuurei, too. But I'm not going to speculate at this point. I really want to be surprised.
All in all, you've done an absolutely excellent job with this story, and I'm looking forward to reading it when it is updated next. Great job!
| HawkofNavarre chapter 11 . 7/4/2008
Ah, after finally getting up to the latest Saiunkoku Monogatari episode, I started to read the fanfiction for it. I must say, this is a quite good story. I'm enjoying it so far and I could barely tear my eyes away from the pages until I was finished. I thought you deserved another review, so here it is! Besides, I'm not THAT lazy.
Hopefully Saya will somehow get it into her stubborn little head that some nobles aren't all that bad. Shuuei's already being so nice to her. Open your eyes, girl!
Hm, I don't know why everyone always writes Seiran as a potential bachelor for Shuurei... I really believe that they are like siblings, and I don't think I've ever seen Seiran look at her in any other way as his Lady or younger sister.
Ryuuki! I'm rooting for you! Shuurei's just as stubborn as Saya in that way!
Well, have fun in Stanford. I will be eagerly awaiting the next chapter of your story! :)
