| bhoney chapter 1 . 2/5/2009
This was such a great depiction of where Sam's head was. Really expresses the level of his despair over the deal Dean's made and the idea of life without his big brother: "Without you...I’ve got nothing left worth fighting for... express elevator for one... destination hell... here I come... it doesn’t matter anymore... at least there we’ll be back together again." Interesting idea, Sam getting himself sent to hell on purpose to be with Dean again. Really heartbreaking.
"Dean nodded at each inmate he passed, his smile relaxed, huge, and contagious in a way Sam had never been able to resist, even with his mightiest scowl." Ya gotta love that contagious smile of Dean's. Love when he pulls it out. Glad it works on Sam too, even in the worst of circumstances. Sam's dream was just chilling.
THIS was incredibly powerful and definitely heartbreaking: "it wasn’t natural to feel so horribly abandoned and alone when the only person in your world who mattered was literally in your grip". *sniffle*
I LOVE the idea of Dean as Sam's home: “I’m lost... how am I supposed to get back home without you?" I think that's definitely true (just wrote a one-shot centered around that idea, myself-great minds! LOL). It's great that Sam recognizes the importance of his big brother in his life.
Loved the ending, the image of the boys watching a classic horror movie together. Very nice. (They should watch Gremlins again as adults, see how Sam reacts now. LOL)
Great job on this! Very intensely emotional, could really feel Sam's rage and fear and despair. Glad it ended with the brothers just relaxing and being together, having come to a compromise of sorts.

I really enjoyed reading this! Great job!
| Dark-flames chapter 1 . 7/18/2007
I'll say this nicely: 'Stop making me cry!' )
No but seriously, you capture that brother spirit so perfectly, just admit it. you're on the scriptwriting team huh..
| Mousitsa chapter 1 . 7/13/2007
I'm so glad you pointed out the obvious: Dean was never really dead... people seem to forget that little detail. Wonderful story, great characterizations. Only loving brothers can fight and cry within minutes and then move on like nothing happened. Very nicely done, thank you for sharing.
| MadMidgetTwins chapter 1 . 7/12/2007

Well Sifi, this was the add on to the season finale. The nightmare plaguing Sam now is the days sliding ever nearer towards the years end and the loss of his brother.
Confronting Dean on his double standards Sam really does nail it on the head here about Dean's attitude to death & the dead!
“You’re a god damned hypocrite... what’s dead should stay dead? You still believe that?” Sam asked knowing he had Dean in a philosophical corner.
“Unless it’s my little brother, you bet your ass I do...” Dean slid free, or so he thought.
Dean's motivation is also exposed here... anything for his Sammy.
So as that clock ticks ever closer and the brothers finally talk and bitch (Yay loving sniping-snarling Sammy!) about what is to come you are left with a feeling that Hell itself really does not know what its let itself in for with the Winchester boys! Because no matter what Sam, just like his brother, will do anything to protect that which he loves most. Great one off. Rozzy

We all know Sammy will save him somehow...but I liked that you pointed out that Dean was never dead. On the verge, sure, but never actually dead.
So, plot bunny - did Sam come back 100%? Inquiring minds want to know!
| TraSan chapter 1 . 7/11/2007
Another wonderful, wonderful job. This was a touching and very true to character conversation between the boys. I could very easily see this taking place on the show.
| Nvrmore chapter 1 . 7/11/2007
Whew! Very nicely done. Intense. I love that Dean is smart enough to realize Sam would even contemplate giving in even if it's to use it to save him.
M... brings me such high hopes for next season's angst-fest.
Awesome job! I'll talk with you later.
| historylover chapter 1 . 7/11/2007
Good story, sifi! Really liked it.
I agree with the points that you made. Dean, love him to death, is kind of a hypocrite. I agree-he was never dead!
Really liked it.
| Ster1 chapter 1 . 7/11/2007
I would love to see moments like this in canon! Sam's right to be angry: Dean doesn't feel he's worth saving and Sam doesn't know how to convince him otherwise. Nicely written!
| Nana56 chapter 1 . 7/11/2007
Those guys! Fight, cry, punch each other and then clink beer bottles and watch a movie side by side. I love it!
| CatBeist chapter 1 . 7/11/2007
Hey, dang it you took me by surprise having a oneshot up... And a good one indeed! Have I mentioned you capture our boys very well? Don't think I have in a while but you do! No matter when the story is told or what is going on I feel you manage to get inside their heads and 'act' them out perfectly in your stories...
A great story and a nice piece that could have been built on in every direction but does very well standing on it's own to feet...
And loved the ending... The Blob - “...what’s this like...two hundred times or something by now?”
Hah he took the words right out of my mind...
So awesome... now late breakfast!
| Poaetpainter chapter 1 . 7/11/2007
Jeez! Your flippin right! Dean NEVER did die. "Whats dead should stay dead"? He was never dead... Damn, I never realized that.
Great fic btw, thanks for the revelation.
