I say again, Wow.
Of all possible endings, you got me. No, I'm not one of the angry readers, though I can see where the small and simple minded would be angry. I love the twist - the detail you put into the entire fantasy life.
Reminds me a bit of the first "Total Recall", but with better acting and an actual follow-able plot. You really can't be sure where the dreams starts or stops, of if it was a dream or reality.
Like how Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha turned out, too. And the woman Kagome grew into was nice. Very adult and capable.

As much as I dislike the "it was all a dream" endings, I accept your reasoning for why it works here. Though, I will choose to retain my rights to follow Adam Savage's example in order to "reject your reality and substitute my own" for re-reads.
You did a fantastic job putting this story together.

I lived Inuyasha's "chat" with the young pup :)
| mtnikolle chapter 20 . 11/19/2013
Rin's "decision" and action makes a great deal of sense in the contact that you wrote it and all the things that lead there. I've also encountered many girls who have made similar decisions at that age. One of my most heartbreaking teach moments was when one of my most promising 12 year old students came to tell me she was pregnant. The boy was about the same age as Sun... and also quite a good student. Hopefully the spur-of-the-moment decision works out better for Rin and Sun than it does for the girls and boys who walk that road now.

Inuyasha's very last sentence made me chuckle. It was a very nice change of emotion. :)

| Lucy's Echos chapter 25 . 9/20/2013
I've read many many fics, that had the same bittersweet flavor and was preparing myself for that overly sweet fluffy ending that most of this fics seem to get. With this, I was reading it and loving how you've written each character, and how their lives turned out, and I was smiling and loving it, then this epilogue.
I was reading and it was cute and and I loved seeing them five years later, and then Inuyasha was staring at the Bone-Eater's Well, I first thought that they rebuilt it, cause past-Kagome needs to be able to travel back though, so no to cause a temporal paradox. Then I kept reading, and reading and I'm like no...she didn't...no...this has to be a bad dream and Inuyahsa will wake and and cuddle Abi and/or his kids and it will all be a nightmare and he's just being silly, and it will be a point to how awesome his life is now.
I was in denial for a little while after reading, I had to take a coffee break to process what I read. I do love a bittersweet ending, and yes this story needed something like this, but I really wasn't expecting it, not at all. It really hit me. I cried, but I don't regret reading it.
