Reviews for The Unholy Trinity |

![]() ![]() ![]() I've loved this story so far - and now that Severus & Minerva have gotten together, I have to comment that you've written a great Severus & Minerva not 'angsty teen dressed up as Snape' and 'uncertain teen dressed up as McGonagall'. Bravo! I'm not convinced that your Snape would fit canon - he would refuse to cooperate with HBP, as would at least Flitwick - but if the story has to be written as an adult story, Snape has to be facing issues far beyond those alluded to for canon Snape, and he had a bad enough time as it was. Good story. |
![]() ![]() ![]() What a great story! Although 2009 is nearly over and it appears you didn't continue it :( sad I was hoping to see further interactions between minerva/snape. How would she react to her when she's angry? what would she do? |
![]() ![]() ![]() you should really write a sequel to this story. i had a great time reading, hopefully you will follow up with another. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Um, I have no idea how I managed to avoid finish reading this or review it until know. Oops? Anyway, I completely, completely love this. The banter, the omens the characters and god did I laugh at loud at a fair few points which is very rare for me. Massive love for this fic. Is there more published or am I just missing something? |
![]() ![]() ![]() This story is trully barking mad. And I mean that with all the respect in the world. I loved the subsubsubplots, the complexity and depths of the characters, the diologues. I even liked the surreal scenarios you crated. The "odd" element in your story makes it very unique, very interesting. It is the kind of story that stands out, that we fanatic readers will remember. I incorporated much of your MM and SS to my "canon view" of them. Actually, your aproach to MM and SS were very unusual. I liked it a lot. But what is trully remarkable is the snarky comments and observations that are generously spread over the chapters! I love it! My new personal-surprise-quote is "Merlin's scrote!". My mother is still trying to figure out what it means. You are trully barking mad. And I love you for it! Kudos from Brazil! |
![]() ![]() ![]() I like the way you bring Fawkes and his thougths into life, and I particularly like how he takes care of Severus. Interesting to see how Minerva has changed her behaviour, so much that Dumbledore notices, too. The mentionning of Go and the comparisons to everyhting are brilliant, by the way - and very fitting, I think. I don't play it, but attempted to learn it once so am familiar with the idea behind it and the rules. And a pink stone! *snort* |
![]() ![]() ![]() *gigglesnort* So Minerva hid as a cat to eavesdrop? I'm fascinated, by the way, by all your little additions and inventions - like Filius talking "Goblin". On the other hand, I must confess that sometimes, I'm at a loss about what you are speaking of. I'm not a native speaker, and some of your abbreviations and insinuations are over my language horizon, I'm afraid. Even though I prided myself with understanding so well *sniffle* ;o). Please don't kill me if I say that some of your pecularities of writing, like making spaces at unusual and unexpected places, are not helping. And I hope you won't kill me if I note in all honesty something that I really don't like: the way your characters abbreviate each other's names and call themselves so. I simply don't find it believing that wizards in this kind of society and at this time in Britain would do so. And to be competely honest, I personally don't really like monosyllabe nicknames, too. But that's just my personal opinion, but of course no criticism. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Oh dear, Severus must have been horrified. About the whole Minerva thing, firstly, and then about this scene before Umbridge, too, and confessing to his secret. Interesting bit of back-story, by the way. Too sad, though, that Severus is so extremely convinced about his own unworthiness. I wonder if he is capable at all at having a relationship with these self-doubts. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Poor Severus! So much reason for mental self-punishing for him... The back-story with Flitwick is rather interesting. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I like it very much that Flitwick plays such a role, too, as I like your characterization of him and the way you show him. It's very good that he realizes so soon what is amiss with Severus. I doubt that Severus would have been able to make believe he's well for a long time. I'm happy for Severus, too, that he is, for once, able to accept the friendship and acceptance offered of his colleagues. The ending of this evening is soo cute - Severus a snuggler *giggles*. But Minerva really cocks up everything really bad. How on earth COULD she? As much as I like her in general, here I could have bumped her head on the wall repeatedly. At her age, she should be knowing how easily one can hurt someone very badly... |
![]() ![]() ![]() And now we learn about Minerva's part. It fits her to be so suspicious and sceptical about Severus's trustworthiness, it fits particularly the kind of character the Minerva in my head has. The meeting of the Head of Houses is well told and a rather practical feature, I think. |
![]() ![]() ![]() That looks like a great story, great storytelling. I have had your story recommended as "the only one that makes MMSS work" and was extremely intrigued, them being my favourite fanfiction couple at all. So far, it works really well for me with your story. I find it very sweet in a way that Severus had a crush on Minerva since his childhood. The way Dumbledore learned about it sounds really tough, though, as do the childhood rememberances you inform us about. I really admire this part of the story. "Eau de Toad" is a great creation! ;o) One question remains, though: how do you read pink ink on pink parchment? *scratches head* |
![]() ![]() ![]() Absolutely enthralling :D Hilarious and v. v. nicely canon. ~V. |
![]() ![]() ![]() MY FAV STORY EVER! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Another excellent chapter. Interesting ghost to bring to Hogwarts and I loved the conversation with Sev. Like you, I was thinking that he wasn't really dead in the book because of the Bezoar and the fact he's a freaking potion master. I was so disappointed in JKR's lack of tying things together in the end and I loved how you handled it here. Great job. |
