I like where this story is going. If updates come, I'll be waiting hopefully.

Involving the Malfoy family is an important element to keeping this a well-rounded and plausible story. And using Avery and Snape's conversation to introduce it - indirectly, as opposed to mental exposition - is super smart.
Hermione is damn clever. The scene with the library was so well crafted, and Snape's subsequent apparently aloof method of gifting Hermione with such an important book was perfect. Not only will it help to assert her confidence in him (after she figures out that's what he's getting at - which she maybe is starting to get by just reading and asking questions later) but it is achieving Snape's ends without much more effort on his end. Ahh, such a good chapter.
I don't know if you have plans to continue, but it certainly has been a joy to read this much!

I'm glad Snape and Hermione's confrontations are starting to lengthen, bc the exchanges are starkly witty and undeniably intelligent. It's fantastic to read!
It's cool to read two characters that we as readers know so well, where they have the luxury of getting to know each other - allows for a bit of dramatic irony, which is pleasant when the fic is engrossed in mystery. Oh and I love Snape's revised assessment of Hermione's personality and his logic in getting there. It's so clever of you to weave the fic that way, through personality discrepancies and exploration. And yet still his concession is still for his apparent personal gain! So Slytherin, it's fantastic!
| trapezefixe chapter 2 . 2/19/2013
The kidnap scene seemed almost forced but the biting dialogue between the two (Hermione is Gryffindor through and through, she's got guts AND cheek) is remarkable, and Snape's handle of the situation would be hysterical if he wasn't so ascerbic. I am immensely enjoying his blunt patronizing, and your Hermione is appropriately brilliant and headstrong. By the way, the slight eavesdropping was an excellent plot point to help pique Hermione's drive to further character development between her and Snape.

I haven't read SSHG in years, so I'm glad my foray back is in your capable hands. I'll have to start perusing my old go-to's again. It's awesome: your writing is helping to draw me back into fandom again, which is great.

love it! My favorite line in the story so far has to be, "Do you like what you see?" and of course the follow-up was pretty good too. Hope you finish it.
