I never understood why people exaggerate normal, good maybe some times mistaken people's faults in books and some way or other bash them. Seems to me you wanted to bash Hermione.

I grew up on a farm in the Midwest in the 80s, and this fic is really cutting home.

Wow. That had to hit Harry hard, evidenced by the nose bleed. That kind of strength in a little kid! Not sure wand magic could do anything like that. Maybe pure channelled magic, mixed with some Wiccan and maybe druidic style, willed by a kid?
