| melraemorgan chapter 1 . 2/23/2010
Your descriptions of grief and death are some of the best prose I've read on the subjects. Your imagery and metaphors were powerful and tragically beautiful. As someone who's read many different genres, from pulp romances to works of great literature, I feel my critique of your work may be taken as one of some value. You simply must continue writing, whatever form you choose, though one would hope you might pursue a broader audience, and seek to be published.

Very sad, i really didn't like the episode for this very reason.. to kill Carson off was just wrong if you ask me.
Heater, you wrote this story very well. its sad but a good story.
Please, continue writing!
| SaJi chapter 1 . 6/12/2008
Gah, that was sad. Loved the emotions and descriptions in this little fikkie, very nicely done.
| Obsessed Pam chapter 1 . 9/8/2007
Such beautiful sadness.
| AbsolutAnda chapter 1 . 8/17/2007

And let me tell you, that is no easy feat!

Oh my, that was lovely. I'm still crying! You really captured McKay ... I can totally see him reacting that way, with a combination of horror, grief, humor & sarcasm.
Please tell me there will be more Carson stories where he's not dead, though! :(
| drufan chapter 1 . 8/13/2007
Yay! I Can review! Very nice piece. Death and taxes...can't be avoided. Love his introspection and how his brain takes a tangent into the ludicrous. That's how it is. Nicely done.
| zomish chapter 1 . 8/13/2007
Wow! I haven’t cried that much since I watched the episode Sunday itself. Teyla’s silent grieving and Rodney’s awkward desire to comfort her was what put me over the edge. Thank you for such a wonderful take on Rodney’s pain.
| sablecain chapter 1 . 8/12/2007
Oh my goodness woman, you made me cry. This was beautiful and painful and gorgeous and heartbreaking and perfect and horrible all at the same time. (Horrible as in it takes your breath away and stabs your gut- I mean) What a look at the agony of loss. I love how you kept Rodney, Rodney...because Carson understood.
Glorious. Thank you.
| NotTasha chapter 1 . 8/12/2007
Wow! This is such a griping, emotional piece. You really showed us the heart of dispair, the horrible tangle of grief.
I can really see McKay reacting like this. He shows all his emotions, doesn't he? I love that he can't even look at his teammates through this, yet he considers each of them and pretty much nails their way of grieving.
and the little hints that the team is all keeping an eye on him - it's all so damn good.
| E. Nagrom chapter 1 . 8/12/2007
I'm crying...that was an extremly good fic. nothing i can think of writing will do it justice
| blueoctober chapter 1 . 8/11/2007
sob sob sob... so sad but a great story. I've been ignoring stories that deal with the episode sunday, kind of still in denial that it happened but I like yours. Great job, it was nicely written. :)
| krysalys chapter 1 . 8/11/2007
Augh, you choked me up there, lass.
Wondrous job. Really hit the nail of grief on the head there.
Sorry, I tend to have the same macabre sense of humor when it comes to death.
Thanks for writing this.

Oh, you made me sob so hard, flah7! This was a very well-written and heartwrenching account on Rodney's pain. To my mind writing how desperately McKay missed Carson and would have wanted to turn back time, thus saving his friend, was extremely touching and very much in character. He may be socially inapt but that doesn't mean he didn't suffer immensely when Beckett met his untimely demise; and it is true, Carson did understand Rodney's behaviour, possibly better than John.
