a very interesting chapter. didn't take vell to be one to make certain she looked her best when she knew there would be a hard training session, though. also. liked the very end section. can only wonder what's going on.

Quite amusing, but you've also settled quite a few dynamics. The Marlin-Vell friendship, for one. Though wasn't the tears overdoing it a tiny bit? And P'tar. Garth seems to have a much more amiable and patient personality that his rider. Finneseth is funny. The werylingmaster and Arryn...and Vell.

I like Vell. Dreamy, wasn't it? Yet down-to-earth. M she's much more similar to Arryn than they realize. Haha I think that's what'll make her a good Weyrwoman. She won't succumb to squabbles.

Great job. Looking forward to more!
