Actually _ There is now a manga by Jim Henson called "Return to the Labyrinth" in which 'Hoggle' IS the prince of the bog of eternal stench, AND he does live in a large hollow tree. _ There are only 2 in the series right now. In them Sarah plays only a small role as of yet. It's maily about Toby. If you wanna check it out, go to a Barns and Nobles book store. If you don't have one near you then you can go to their website, and type in the search box 'Jim Henson' otherwise you'll be looking forever to find the book.

This fic was AWSOME... a little sad that its ending but it was awsome... _ i will always remember it...

Wow! -And here I thought the reviews would end once I finished it.

I still can't believe you all enjoyed the story so much, yet I'm thrilled that you did.

The Bowie-song reference is at the very end of Chapter Twenty-One when Emrys is standing in darkness and Ganydda is standing in front of a door. Bowie once covered a song by Jacques Brel titled, "My Death", the chorus goes:

Whatever waits behind the door

There's nothing much to do

Angel or devil, I don't care

For, in front of that door

There is you

Great song, actually. You can watch him singing it on youtube.

Now... On a more serious note...

There will be no sequel to this story. I set the story up to leave room for a sequel with the sole intention of never writing one. And this is the reason:

At the end of my favourite book, "Arthur", Stephen R. Lawhead, leaves his readers with the promise that "Myrddin Emrys was a prohpet and Arthur would come again to lead his own." I closed the book (and re-read it a few times) with the faintest, most fantastical belief that Arthur would.

(Lawhead did write a sequel called "Avalon" and I had a hard time reading it because it wasn't the same as the first book.)

The characters of this story all had to choose whether to trust in the High King's return or not: they live their lives never knowing when or if he will ever come back. If I were to write a sequel, I would take that emotion, that sentiment away from you, the reader.

You must now decided whether or not you believe the High King will return; if I write a sequel stating that he does or does not, it is no longer "faith" on your part or mine, but a tedious note in plot-line. I will have told you what is real and what is not and that is a decision, I believe, the reader should be allowed to make for themselves in certain stories.

Good grief, I'm a long-winded, puritanical, snob, but we all must draw our lines.

As for writing, I will continue with that, though I have no intention of writing another "Labyrinth" fic. I may write a "Bonanza" fic, but my ambitions are now very much in my own work and my own stories.

love the whole story and it was great to read it this whole time and i love the ending.

WOW! I had a special SHOUT-OUT in the previous chapter! (Lucky me!) Sorry I haven't checked in to this fic for a while; I didn't even notice your new updates because I've been so busy.

And to be honest, I didn't even get the song reference in the last chapter. Unless it was..."you precious thing."

I made a concise effort to try to find it. :)

Anyhow, this fic was incredible. You truly do have a penchant for writing. You captured the thoughts and emotions of all characters, and made sure the canon characters were in-character throughout the fic. The fanon characters? Amazingly composed. You kept us in worry for quite a while! Well, Emrys, you were quite an admirable man. As for Morgan LeFay...I wonder where she went off to. Are you planning any more fics? I'd love to read them. Keep that pen scratching!

My favorite lines of the last chapter:

"“Eat baby!” cried one of the goblins, his yellow eyes wide with delighted expectation.

“No!” groaned another goblin, shoving the yellow eyed one. “Not eat baby: see baby!”"

Very good! I loved this story. So sad it's over. Great ending though. They're so cute together.

By the way, in this sentence, "...his seat on the Council was left empty and desolate; a constant reminder of what he had been to all of them, what he had sacrificed for all of them" you might want to switch the last two parts or find a way to rewrite it. It sounds like Emrys was empty and desolate, even though we knew what you meant.
