I got the feeling that this would be a good story when I first started reading it. It's little additions like the spilt perfume bottles that create trust in the author that they know what they're doing.

Mulder and Scully were absolutely perfect in this. I'm so glad you didn't succumb to the pressure to make the aftermath of this episode a huge love-declaring epiphany, like so many others seem to do. Even after all these years it's strangely comforting to see the two as they've always been, even in fanfiction. Thank you so much for this. It's lovely to read good Scully angst. You've made my day.
