I just picture in an alternate universe Lily just busts down Sakumo's door and is like : SO! You're my baby's daddy!? And Sakumo's all awkward and terrified and manages to choke out 'Lily" and after a massive beating they sertle down and make wonderful parents. :-)

Tbh the hokage's negligence with Harry's care is really irritating, the man knows that Harry doesn't speak a word of their language, is probably a traumatized child since he Knows about Harry being attacked by death eaters, and he didn't even arrange for a tutor to teach Harry Japanese (I'm just gonna say they speak Japanese because tbh anything else is unlikely). Like him being a busy man is one thing, but if he's too busy to properly provide a teacher who can understand him or hell, even Explain what was going on to the child when he's the one who agreed to take him in in the first place, idk its just Dumb and doesn't seem like something the leader of an entire village would be able to overlook, even if it was just to delegate the task to someone else.

In my own head, the reason the land of fire is so named is as follows:

Outside of Konoha is an artificial forest, created by some ridiculous jutsu by Senju Hashirama.

Outside of the forest is a large flat area not unlike America's Great Plains. There is a huge drought every few decades. During the droughts, there are wildfires.

The wildfires are the reason for the "fire" name.

The important parts of the Naruto story happen between droughts, which is why the topic never comes up in conversation. Also, note that we never see foreigners complain about how hot the weather is.

Another fun explanation for the nation's name is that outside of the artificial forest is a natural forest, which is dominated by Eucalyptus trees or similar, which encourage wildfires. Again, the climate could be temperate.

In either case the trees created by Hashirama would have to be fire resistant, but this isn't hard to conceive of considering all of the other properties of wood release chakra.
