Ahh! It's me again! I couldn't resist checking to see if you had other fics after reading Clearing Skies. Definetely glad I did! Wow, you started this fic out with just the idea of explaining Kenshin's gi, and you end up with a extremely well developed OC and plot. Jeez, good job! I'm gonna read that other story (Prism, is it called?) later, right now I need to get off the computer and finish my homework for tomorrow. In any case, you are a very good author and I love the stories that I've read so far! (you also have a definite nack for keeping people in-character).

This story was so good I actually finished it in one sitting. I like the idea of showing what Kenshin did all those ten years, wandering around Japan. The simple plot of how Kenshin got his pink gi in the first place has turned out to be something really great. I enjoyed reading this story, and hope to be able to read more by you soon.

Having read the story, I can't help but think that Yan was directly based on Yahiko. They both have that frustrated temper and desire to be strong in body and mind.

Throughout the Tokugawa Shogunate, it was illegal for any man to practice any trade but his father's-by refusing to teach Yan swordsmithing, Yan's father essentially denied Yan his life.

I guess my review is mixed. You introduce a complex character with realistic motivation... and make him a cookie-cutter bad guy.

First off: That was a really neat story idea! I enjoyed the whole thing! It wasn't too fast or slow... a good mix of both! Also not just guys have a shirts they refuse to part with. I have a shirt that is 6 years old and full of holes... granted I only wear it as a nightshirt (accually I'm wearing it right now considering its like 2:30am... a perfect story to read w/ the clothes I'm wearing!) but I have become quite attached to this old shirt so I understand how Kenshin and your friend feels! AGH! Look how long this is! I'll be shutting up now...

Lovely story!

I liked the story behind this fic and am glad I discovered it under all the other RK fanfiction that exists. The story is a great piece of writing.

I love this story! But just for fun, I looked up the definition for "Shishou" and found these: woodworker, stab, puncture wound, obstacle, hindrance, difficulty, injuries and deaths, casualties, embezzlement, poetry and prose, and the funniest definintion for "Shishou"... "unliscensed prostitute". I know that when Kenshin calls Hiko-sama "Shishou" he really means "teacher", but it's funny to see the other definitions.

Also, I saw that the definition for "oro" is pre-natal vaginal discharge. Poor Kenshin... I wonder if he knows?
