Beautiful, sad, utterly fitting, and incredibly romantic. As an old married woman, I can see the romance here, and not simply a macabre ending. This was a lovely testament to eternal, never-ending, love. It gives a fuller meaning to "Till death do we part."

Your dialogue at the end of this chapter, in which Harry and Ginny each swear to step in front of a killing curse for each other, got my mind whirling. Thanks to you, I now find myself mentally configuring the probability of such a scenario, given the ending of DH. If Harry were to willingly step in front of a killing curse for Ginny, knowing that he didn't have to die, but choosing to do so out of his love for her (the criteria laid down by JKR for Harry's survival in Book 1); and if Ginny were to do the same at the same moment, perhaps while they were fighting back to back, what would the repercussions be? Darn you for this mind bender, as I have things to do, and now I'm utterly distracted this evening! ;-)

I loved this story and the ending was perfect.

I like the story so far. I think the relationship between Ginny and Harry is good in how it is gradually starting instead of just happening instantly.
One very small thing though (for future stories perhaps): Why the contacts? I've read that sort of thing several times and I find it to be utterly pointless. The canon glasses wearing Harry can see well enough to spot a golfball better than any other Seeker at Hogwarts oô So in terms of quality the glasses are no issue (impressive given that I think in canon they were second hand rather than a proper fit but ok). But what I never got was the combat issue. I have two words as an effective counter-argument against contacts: "Accio" and "Contacts". Funny, given that this is the general argument against keeping the glasses but the way I see it if the glasses are summoned away (or something) you can summon them back and put them back on. Do try the same thing with contact lenses. I doubt it will work nearly as well. The solution? put some sort of anti-summoning charm on the contacts so they can't be summoned or fall out by accident. If you can do that to contacts, why bother? Do it to the glasses instead and throw in a sticking charm for good measure. Enchant them if need be. No need for contacts and likely nobody will suspect that anything has changed (something anyone with half a brain will do if a guy with glasses suddenly shows up without them). The only reason that would remain is thinking that he'd look better without glasses (not that I'd agree with that but ok). And frankly with a life-threatening situation like old Voldie on hand I'd say good looks should be the last of his concerns (unless they can be of some strategic use).

I admit I am not normally a H/G kinda guy. But your other, shorter works led me to jump into this one, and I like it. Good language skills, too. Thanks for sharing.

I like the story a lot! It's great to read. Harry is funny. He's more than a bit obsessed with Ginny.

Thank you for this handsomely rogue story ;)
Especially the last epilogue was truly bittersweet but it was completelly fitting and has entertained me a lot for the last three evenings.

I can see no reason to complain... as it seemed for quite a while now that if not by magic then by their personalities they were driven very close and had to hold back hard not to trespass some lines, the shifting of this line seems a logical and a consequent step for how the protagonists behaved this last half year.
Was it a conscious decision to disregard "official canon" in regards of the time this story takes place? The Euro as paper money wasn't introduced before 2002, while the accepted time for sixth year is 1996/7 so the summer afterwards would be five years too early for Euros to be handed out... and Francs would be the funny paper slips of your choice...
