Yooo, I know it's been over 10 years since this last updated, but I still have a bit of hope that this may continue since you seemed to still be active during 2020. I'm really loving this story so far-never thought I'd find myself rooting for Light in a fanfiction the same way I rooted for him while watching the anime. I normally read fic with more L and Light focus than fics about post-canon DN. You've balanced the humor and the more solemn stuff perfectly for me. I was looking for something lighter than what I normally read when I stumbled upon this and I do not regret it at all. The Death Eraser from the manga pilot is such an interesting concept that I want to see explored more. Hope I get to see more of this soon, even though it's been a decade.

As long as the person-whose-name-has-been-written-in-the-death-note's body is whole, not burned (or cremated), they can be brought back to life. The Death Eraser can also apparently be used multiple times without wearing out at all, kind of how the Death Note never runs out of pages. However, bringing someone back to life who was killed by a Shinigami will probably take the-years-they-acquired-by-killing-that-person away from them, which they might not be too happy about and they might decide to kill you. I'm learning what I can about the Death Eraser for my own fanfiction.

The real question is can it erase pen?

This is one of the few non-Lawlight, non-Wammy-centric fics that are good that I have found, which makes you a very special gem. It is also the only fic I've seen so far that features Light's rambling in full acknowledgement of just how ridiculous he is when he does that which is also incredible. Matsuda and Ryuk munching on apples and watching that mess was something I never knew I wanted but you gave it.

And oh, Matsuda - I have to say, he seemed a bit quick in joining the Kira side, but considering what a mess he was after The Warehouse, his guilt and doubts, I can't say that this isn't something he would do. And he is becoming a more capable, confident man, which is an important reason why I wish you would resume this story: your Matsuda is going through development fairly unique to this fandom.

Mikami's misery, Near's frustration, the team's confusion - ahh yes. I like. Same with Ryuk and Light, of course, they are darlings as ever. (And that's another thing - to me, the Death Eraser always seemed like a terrible idea. Retcon galore. You've made it work, which is seriously well done.)

I just want to take a moment to tell you, that this plot is amazing, I was never bored for a moment, and that Near writing Mikami's name in the death note is now cannon for me. Really, that last idea makes so much sense, because I was so confused in the original anime. Ever since I read this last night, I've been spewing theories about how Near must have done this and that, in order to get an ideal finale. So really, pure genius. Thanks for posting this awesome story, and I hope there will be more. :)

XD oh god this chapter! Yes, yes, you haven't updated in forever, but I am still going to comment. I hope your interest in Death Note sparks up again because this chapter was golden and I'm sure you could come up with something equally as intriguing for the next chapter as well.
