I loved it! Especially the happy ending, with Sheppard trying to smooth things over and Ronon just plows on like he does :-)

I have no idea how I possibly could have missed this fic before but I know I've never read it and yet it has EVERYTHING I've been desperately searching (and not finding) in a fic. So awesome! McKay in the brig. McKay fighting Carter with McKay being right. McKay saving his team and willing to risk all to do it. JUST SO MUCH LOVE. I also love how everyone has his codes.

Oh, that was awesome! I haven't yet got beyond season one so, yes, I shouldn't have read a story that obviously had the teeny weeny little spoiler that Weir isn't there anymore. But I couldn't very well read things on a fanfic site and not have figured that one out. I even learned about Ronon from this sight. I really liked your story there. And I thoroughly approve of you letting Sam and Rodney take a half hour lunch break to torture some interesting folk. (I am so glad I am finally old enough to watch this show! My birthday is in 18 days and then it is official, I can watch all of my brother's awesome shows). The stories on this site have only made the anticipation sweeter. Thanks so much!

I love seeing McKay getting the better of Carter. SG1 are great characters, but over time, they got a bit 'holier than thou.' Plus, I love Rodney's Deus ex Machina status.

Great story! The ending was pretty funny! Though, I like how Sam promised not to hinder Rodney, I wish that in the show, they would have used Sam's brillance more. I know Rodney is cheif scientist, but that didn't make Sam and doorstop. Always, great story! :)

Hehe, nice ending. That was a great use of a stressful situation as a way for Carter to find her place in Atlantis :)

Lol - love the team tag at the end and the way Sam has to acknowledge that she's the real issue here, not McKay. She's the newbie and he's grown a lot in the previous 5ish years or so, so this was kind of a character growth moment for her. She realises she needs to take a step back and let other people who know their own jobs to do those jobs, instead of arrogantly assuming, McKay-style(!) that she's the only one who can be right.

I also loved McKay's jail scene - not for the fact he was in jail lol, but his distress over his team's predicament was very believable and real.

Loved this story! Very realistic about how Sam has to get used to relying on other scientists, especially Rodney. Also liked the end where Sam and Rodney team up against Sheppard and the others after they make fun of Rodney.

Brilliant story! Loved the way that Radek et al. all knew Rodney's code, nice touch.

I admit that I've only watched a few episodes of SG-1, but that didn't hinder my appreciation for this story and how well it portrayed the awkwardness of Carter's new position. The theme was carried out expertly and the dialogue was so good that I could almost hear the characters saying the lines. And that last scene was classic-I love how the team would always revert to teasing after some huge dramatic moment.

Over all, a very good fic; you can clearly see the Atlantian teamwork and Rodney's desperation, but at the same time understand Carters motivations for her behaviour.

This second half was just beautifull. It showed Carters capabilities to work aside them, and her chemistry with Rodney, both things I've found sadly missing from the 4th season.

And a hilarious end. :-)

And Carter ordering McKay to build the self-disctruct that will kill his friends must feel to him like revenche for when he did not believe Tealc could be saved.

OT: Fic idea about them trusting Carter that you mentioned; Perhaps you could do another fic from Zalenka's point of view, where he hears McKay was transferred to Russia after his failure in 48 Hours, and have him flashback to fears about Siberia while his nation was under Communist rule.
