I like this story; it's an original view on a complicated, compelling subject. The two critiques I have is that is sometimes seems as if you are trying to hard with the vocabulary; there is no need to be overly verbose. I apologise if you are doing this because that is how Severus speaks.

My other concern is that some of the word usage is very odd. Other than that, it's quite good!

I was not expecting that out of Arthur. I like it though. Great chapter! I can't wait for the next one!

I really like the exchange at the end of this chapter, perhaps moreso because, as Snape admits, he has not had such a bantering, friendly conversation with *anyone* in sixteen years, and it's somehow fitting that it's with Harry, now that he can understand Harry far better than he ever had before.

I like your Harry in this story: hard, distant and sarcastic, but trying so hard to maintain a facade of caring (about his friends, the world, his life . . .)

One nit that's been bugging me: usually, when you write "weary" I believe you mean "wary". They sound almost the same (in some dialects) but they mean quite different things.

Great chapter. I find it pretty incredible that Arthur supports a Snarry possibility. That's definitely a cool touch to the fic.

This is a wonderful representation of Severus - he's brilliant, controlled and tough. He can see what needs to be done, and he can accept the consequences of his actions. Arthur is terrific, as well - thank you for making him into a real person, with depth and colour.
