Yeah, this isn't how the Swords work. The moment Harry threatened an innocent man for money, it'd reject him and its power would fail. It wouldn't just 'throb reproachfully'.

Fidelacchius's power failed when Murphy tried to kill Nichodemus while he was unarmed. Amoracchius' power failed when Harry Dresden tried to use it to break his bargain with Lea - in fact, it shocked him and ripped itself out of his hands. And Murphy and Dresden both had much better reasons for trying to misuse the Swords.
