Glad you dropped the Rory bomb already but I have to admit that I was kind of wishing that it would have been an in person kind of bomb. Oh well. At least there's time for both of them to prepare...no walking out on each other in shock. |

| Missez Ventimiglia chapter 8 . 1/20/2011 I can't believe I haven't reviewed this story yet. I've read it multiple times (and sometimes, when I tell myself I'll only read one chapter and then go do something productive, I have to keep reading anyway). I love it; it's the best multi-chapter post-7x21 fic I've read and it's so good in so many ways. I love the homage to Persuasion and love your well-chosen quotes from the novel. It's such an interesting conceit and it works so well (with the Louisa character and the seven years and Anne's rejection of Wentworth - although I think it was for different reasons than Rory's). I especially love how you haven't made Lorelai out to be a shrewish creature, or worse yet, made Lorelai and Rory estranged in some way, which I've seen in quite a few Rory/Logan fics. Lorelai here is recognizable and funny and concerned for her daughter in a way that makes sense. And the 'French vanilla in your coffee' conversation she and Rory have is spot on and makes me laugh. And most of all, I love Rory and Logan (and fervently hope they will become RoryandLogan again). I love the weight of their interactions with each other, all that's unspoken, the move from bitterness and anger to something else; how careful and unsure they are, how easily they misunderstand the other. And the care package! And their phone conversations! And Logan running! (Do you watch the Good Wife? In the most recent episode, Matt Czuchry's character, is shown running a couple of times. My personal Logan canon is that he's a runner.) Thank you very much for writing this! I hope you update when you get a chance. |
