Lily's humor here and Snape's biting thoughts in his head were so satisfying and memorable. It made this scene so sharp and powerful. Great work

You're right, the angst and melodrama are like spray cheese from a can. So unhealthy... BUT SO BEAUTIFUL! I adore your Snape. I try to think of a more specific description than saying "He's just so *human**," but it's kind of tough. He is a delight, as a awkward teen who just wants to kiss the girl, as a tortured young man, (and in Ananke) as a resolute soul. You never hide the worst of his mistakes orthe best of his character. LILY too, she's my favorite! Exactly how I thought she'd be from the books (maybe with a slightly less kooky sense of humor, which I love?) And it feels completely natural why Sev would love her the way he does, it feels like breathing. You can't help but love LILY here. It's different from the books, where we're not getting enough scenes with her to truly understand. So thank you so much. Please write more!

I think you did a really good job in showing us the complexities of one women in love with two men in an emotionally believable way while maintaining the integrity of the original characters. And I thought you did this in a very efficient way in your storytelling. Really, really good job!

Beautiful, short and realistic. I love how you didn't shy away from Lily loving two men. I guess it's because it's seen as bad or something, I don't know. In any case, it's not impossible like some people like to think.

The only think I would nitpick is that they were both 16 when he called her a mudblood. 95% of fics have that error so it's not really surprising, it's just irks me each time.
