| bhoney chapter 18 . 10/15/2008
Wow, I just realized I'd never left a review for this, even though I was completely mesmerized by it when I read it a few weeks ago. I dedicated like an entire weekend to reading this story, and could not stop till the end. Very suspenseful, great brotherly moments, very well-written. And your description of the fire was so detailed and intense, I felt like I had really been in a forest fire for days afterward. It completely haunted me.
Thanks for writing, I'm favoriting this!
| CB Walters chapter 18 . 9/13/2008
What a truly amazing accomplishment this fic is! I am in awe, not just at your skill, but at your obvious passion for the subject matter. I've been reading Supernatural fanfic for a while now, but this is definitely the single best story I have ever encountered. I hope this doesn't sound corny, but I really felt changed after having read it. Seeing the emotional struggle between the boys made me want to restore the balance in my own life, between me and my friends and family. Your portrayal of the intricacies of Native American folklore was absolutely moving, and so very applicable. The details and the depth of your research added so much emotion and realism to your story line that it had me doing research on my own, checking out more information about other aspects of Dine culture, as well as wildfires and firefighters.
Thank you so much for writing. I really can't quite adequately express how intensely it grabbed my imagination and had me thinking about my own life.

Exceptional story you've got here.
I especially enjoyed the beginning locale of this story as Harpers Ferry is a place I know well.
Lots of emotion was felt throughout this story and I can't thank you enough for sharing this with us.

That was an amazing story! I lvoed every minute of it. I also read it in about 24 hours. :P I really liked that you were respectful of the Navajo people. To many stories get Native American's wrong and it bugs me. So, from a lowly white girl from Arizona, thank you for a GREAT story!

Divine ending! I enjoyed every minute!
| the muse77 chapter 8 . 7/8/2008
"Dean squared his shoulders and took a deep breath before starting towards the position he had picked out. His movements were more graceful and stealthy than they had been just moments before. Barely visible tendrils of smoke eddied and swirled around him as he moved through the moonlight. The game was on."
This is such a visually powerful paragraph! I pretty much got a movie clip to play in my head! Excellent writing! Your story has me hooked...dunno how happy my boss is about that lol. My lunch break always extends a little with me saying "I'll be back in just a sec, I want to finish this chapter!"
| Laura and Ava chapter 1 . 6/11/2008
I really love this story. I've been watching SN from the pilot episode! You have an amazing talent! I can actually see Sam and Dean while I'm reading! Thank you so much for sharing this story.
| Mangacat201 chapter 18 . 6/10/2008
Holy shit, I was like at half of the fic, that's it, now it's going to end.. but wait there are another ten chapters going! And it was like that time and again troughout the whole story, making us believe there couldn't possibly be any more room for those sudden turns, but you kept it going and turned up a notch time and again! A really intricate pattern, fascinating mythology, exeptionell research, and my, what a drive!
| girlfan1979 chapter 18 . 6/7/2008
This is a great story - well written, interesting, and just plain-old smart. Thank you for sharing.

I don't think you have to explain the sudden reconnection in the Winchesters communication at all! The Winchesters are Winchesters for a reason - yes, they can fight each other tooth and nail, but when it comes to something fighting them... look the heck out, because they have years of training conditioned in them. I actually think the sudden reconnection you've written is so much more complimentary to cannon Dean and Sam. So let's put any doubt about that to rest right the heck now.
Vic - I am seriously just floored by this story. Every time I start into a new chapter I'm just completely lost in the environment and the details. Dude! DETAILS! You're becoming the queen of detail! This story just flares to beautiful freakin life with all the careful detail you put into the imagery, plot, actions, and the ongoing environment surrounding them. I'll probably start sounding like a broken record here because I just can't get over how very well written this story is.
One of my favorite things is that you aren't just out for the thrill of the surprise. You're honest with the play out of the situations and that, ironically, is more of a surprise than any gasp-filled, sudden, Dun-dun-dun's! ...if that makes any sense ;) You've managed to make this story completely realistic with your knowledge of the situation, environment and plot - kept it realistic with reactions and dialouge and yet have made the story completely intense! Which is not easy to do and not something you see a lot on here.
Gah! This is just so stinkin good. Seriously, book quality. This is the kind of story you'd expect to find in Borders... not those other wanna-be SPN books that came out not too long ago... the official ones or whatever. Your story is fantastic. And I'm only half way through! YE! Okay, deep breath, must remain calm. Can't wait to get to the next chapter!

Hey, I did it! Finished reading and... whoho... what a rollercoaster.
Do you know this special feeling when reading a story? It's a good story, well written and the emotions seem to radiate from the words like the heat from you burning woods? And then there's this moment of brotherly fondness and pain and angst that makes your stomach clench like when you're on top of said rollercoaster?
Well if you don't, you should. Cause you totally made me feel IT. I was warm and cold and I even might have cried a little. Just a little. Could have been smoke.
Anyway, I'm totally reading your other stories... though I should be going to bed first. *sighs*
And yeah SFTCOL(AR)S rock :-D

Wha! The windows time display's throwing me evil glances. I'll read on tomorrow as soon as possible.
By the way... did I already tell how awesome this story is? No? Well in this case: AWESOME!
Sam kidnapped and Dean in full BigBrother!mode. Yehha!
| annj chapter 5 . 6/4/2008
I so want to smack Dean over the head. Stubborn, stubborn idjit! Ack! And he made me read another chapter *gets strong cup of coffee before reading on*
| annj chapter 4 . 6/4/2008
Hehe, pun happily gotten! I just finished chapter 4 and even though I should be learning (or sleeping for that matter) I can't stop reading.
You're freakingly talented in showing us the Sam and the Dean from SHOW! Even though they keep cracking jokes and try to stay calm under all the pressure one can feel the impending doom coming closer like a freaking tsunami. I'm going to need a wet suit when it comes to that *bites fingernails*.
Okay, one more chapter... maybe two before my brain starts falling asleep by itself.
| annj chapter 1 . 6/4/2008
Read the first chapter and I think, the story is more than promising. You'll hear from me again :-)
