Amazing, beautiful, flawless...except for one. Minor details are something I love in stories, especially ones that seem like oversights by writers but turn out to be the opposite once you think about it. This however, "Katara replaced the love he had for the Air Nomads" was not it. He found new love in Katara but that didn't mean he'll forget what he feels for the Air Nomads, Guru Pathik says that himself. ("The Air Nomads' love for you has not left this world"...it's still there just reborn.) Then again, this story is old and the series was still airing by then. It was never anything major, it's just I had to point it out because modern ATLA fandom loves to forget about minor details and come out with really bad takes that wouldn't have happened had those minor details been processed better. Just terrible overall interpretations, though of course yours wasn't anything close to being on the level of insanity that is the fandom now.

Your interpretation of their development from Katara's side of things was really great. Extremely probable this was how it went and was observed by Sokka, Kataang's biggest in universe supporter.

Wow... this is really good. Not what I was expecting but it's very interesting to see Aang and Katara's relationship from a different point of view, especially Sokka's who I think knows her better than she knows herself and who would say things that Katara herself wouldn't say.

Usually when people do stories like this where we get to see what they were thinking during the actual episodes, it doesn't match up too well, i think, but this really works and adds much more depth to Katara's feelings toward Aang. Which I think we can all agree were a little lacking in the show so thank you for this and I'm sorry I go on and on... :)

Cool story! It was neat to read something from Sokka's POV. And the bit about the desert: 'not exactly lucid...' yeh, that's the understatement of the century. lol
