Hey, this is not bad! I really like slave fics and I think there should be more of them, though this wasn't quite a slave fic since he basically treated her like an honored guest, as you said.

You recreated both their reactions quite realistically, though I have to wonder why Draco let her think he was a traitor.

And I love the part where he feels like he'll always lose to Ron over Hermione, even though he's dead.

And now for a bit of shameless self-pimping...I write Draco-angst stories too, some Hermione angst but mainly Draco-angst, sort of like you, so please read! Yes, I am shameless...but then what is shame? And who says you have to have a troublesome thing like a conscience?
