Reviews for Binding Fate
Guest chapter 1 . 5/22/2021
Sanzo doesn’t necessarily absolutely need to vocally recite the Maten sutra to use it though. He has very successfully activated it while being totally submerged under water, killing quite a few yokai in one go as usual.

I personally find it a terrible shame we never get to see the use of the katana more, m’self.
Ale chapter 6 . 4/8/2013
Oh yeah, I really liked the creativity you showed in writing how Sanzo was able to deal with the majority of the wolf pack. Very sneaky. Your fight scenes were all superbly written.
Ale chapter 6 . 4/8/2013
Woah, I think this is my favorite Saiyuki fanfic that I've read so far. It had the right amount of drama mixed with the right amount of humor. I believe that the characters were very in character and they interacted well. I especially liked the last minute timing of the sutra, and the torture stuff had me on the edge of my seat.
I also liked how long the trek up the mountain took with the reminders that Sanzo was still injurred.
Sanzo telling Goku to go away was expected, but still sad. I was expecting Goku to come back to save Sanzo and for Sanzo to be the one to defeat the youkai in the end, but the manner in which you wrote the scene was still able to keep me tense and scrolling down the page in anticipation for what was to come next.
Sanzo's reaction to Goku's 'new' name was also really funny.

Anyway, I greatly enjoyed reading this fic. Your word choice is excellent, and everything just flows so smoothly together. Thank you very much for writing this!
sorcerousfang chapter 6 . 3/6/2011
I love this story. You're writing style is wonderful, and the way this story rolled was beautiful. Great job all around!
LuoLiBei chapter 6 . 4/14/2009
This was a really great story. It was well written and a nice look at the characters. I love young Sanzo and new to the world Goku was just great! I liked the action and I appreciated the lack of adult content, I'm not a big fan of pairing people off all the time. I wish you had some more Saiyuki stories I could read. :(
Waifine chapter 6 . 4/13/2009
It was curious how Sanzo refused to call him by the name he'd actually given to him 500 years before. But it was also a very cool story. Very enjoyable. And it was great to see Goku so well loved.
Waifine chapter 5 . 4/13/2009
I loved this ending. And I loved the semi-conversation between Goku, Sanzo and sanzo's master aka his memory.
Waifine chapter 4 . 4/13/2009
This was a really exiting chapter... and I'm off to read more.

Your way of dealing with the wolf pack via explosions was very, very cool!
Waifine chapter 3 . 4/13/2009
This was awfully dramatic.

...and now for Goku to save that pasty-monk-ass!

Again, great chapter. The last line was very, very potent.
Waifine chapter 2 . 4/13/2009
Second chapter was fantastic. I love how you keep going to the 'familiar name' in Sanzo's mind. The one-armed yokai is an exiting villain, and I'm generally riveted for the rest of it!
Waifine chapter 1 . 4/13/2009
I really, really like the beginning to your story. And I really like how you wrote out the 'conversation' between the voice and Sanzo, his reluctance to share it with anyone else, and the vague remembrance he has when he hears it. All in all, a very compelling beginning.
a dreamer's attic chapter 6 . 8/17/2007

I would have more praise but it is 4:00am and I fear I have lost the ability to type correctly -_-

again, it was wonderful to read

Yuki Amane chapter 6 . 3/29/2007
A most interesting read. A good plot with very good development. I noticed that you tried to follow the true manga a bit, but there are still many inconsistence
