| Panoply chapter 102 . 12/23/2008
Well that was an unexpected end! Five has her wish, yet doesn't. It was bound to happen in one of the universes however. Will she transfer her core to another, or learn an important lesson? Hmm...
Suitably epic end to the Quest - loved the entire Midworld plotline.
Thanks for another wonderful story!

Now you almost had me fooled. I truly believed it was going to be a happy end...
| Eternal Density chapter 102 . 12/21/2008
now that was a Quest!
still lots of surprises even in the epilogue.
well done! that definitely exceeded everything I expected at the beginning.
and John... that was, erm, creative. I wonder what Five has to say about that idea...
| SusanMartha chapter 102 . 12/21/2008
You better not leave it here! "Safe" and "Happy" are two different things. I wonder what will happen when five finally realizes that. In her desire to protect John, she's destroyed him, almost.

Wow! What an ending!
And what a sacrifice John made! I didn't see that one coming, really. I thought perhaps the sacrifice would be of Jeff, seeing the rancor that brewed between them at this time in your timeline. But this? Not in a million years. I hope there is hope of release, for the future you've written.
Wonderful ending to Gawain's tale, too. Satisfying and unseen as well. This whole story, both the Thunderbirds and the Midworld, have been intriguing and exciting and now that it's done, I'll miss it.
I hope you do have something more for us, because this chapter sounds terribly final. Great work, MG! Your very best!

I've just caught up on this and have been left gasping at the fast-paced action. There's a real sense of crescendo as the story hurtles to a conclusion. I don't know how you're keeping all the threads straight - it's masterful writing!
So which reality did John commit to? What will be the outcome on Midworld? I'm on the edge of my seat.
I'm re-reading this from beginning to end over Christmas when I can just lose myself in it for a few days. It deserves savouring.
| Eternal Density chapter 101 . 12/14/2008
bravo! all sides of the equation are equally riveting :D
Great to get a happy resolution to the rescue (reporter-in-law is a funny name!) and I liked all the parallels between the two worlds (which are of course far more than coincidence)
The scene with Linda and Sunshine - I mean John - was really really really good :D :D !

Y'know, the bard, Kenneth, reminds me a lot of Cindy - especially with lines like "Ill be certain to emphasize each facet of your shame and defeat for the masses. A light, comic tone should suit..."
Yeah. Sounds a lot like Cindy. Perhaps her Midworld counterpart?
Poor Gordon. Not knowing he has to blend in, and making a target of himself instead. Not sure what John can do to help, considering how many of those reality 'twigs' ended up with Gordon dead. And I love your description of probability. Very visual! I hope that Thresher's hull gets stressed a whole lot faster than the COB estimates!
Great work, and on to 101!

so now we've got ghost TB4s as well as actual ghosts...
I love how John is trying to cobble together a suitable version of reality...
bards are fun!
| Sam1 chapter 100 . 12/7/2008
Okay, is there anything that John can't do? The mass illusion of TB4s was a work of genius. Shame that John didn't get to let Gordon know about the plan.
I hope that Henderson doesn't hurt Gordon or TB4 or I will be most irritated. lol I couldn't help but laugh at this line, "John obviously had issues (volumes… entire libraries…)". Too funny and very true.
Looking forward to more as I'm sure Thresher is going to make a move here before long.

Ok. We started at story #1 with a set of characters. We had them until about the middle of story #14. Then the space-time continuum broke and people starting shifting in and out of reality. Your reality, that is. Then they went on shifting until now. Now you're saying we're unlikely to ever get the originals back BECAUSE YOU LOST THEM?
As much as I'm enjoying those subtle differences (and as much as I'd like to see an account of what happened between Jeff's accident and the current now. Lots of potential there) I'm beginning to get worried. So far, Cindy is the only constant throughout the series. Surely you can't have anything planned for her, can you? she's my favourite character, you know...
| Tikatu chapter 99 . 11/30/2008
Lots going on here. I feel for John trying to guess which family members he can return when the past is so blurred.
From the sound of it, John may have just returned one of his proper family members to her state before the energy discharge - Grandma's snapping the way she did sounds like she's her old self, with no stroke residue. But I might be wrong, there.
Thresher - sounds like the "technocrat" has been busy suborning some good men with his agenda. I bet Cindy will go ballistic when it's known that the footage exists - and where will Penelope be? Working to suppress or destroy it? That is part of her job...
Now, didn't Frodle say that "two of us will not return"? Nothing at all about those two *dying*, just not returning. Though it seems this is the cheat that Drehn has been looking for, isn't it? But little, very important, Anelle has been skulking around along the edges of the paladins' forces - if she is found, then all bets are off. I have my suspicions about what Drehn may truly end up doing - which isn't dying, btw.
A great tense lead up to the conclusion of the story. Looking forward to more.

great progress in RP-world :D
and Gordon's rescue is getting pretty wild (even without Thresher!)
and John's sure having a tricky time, defending realities and all...
| MitzyTN chapter 98 . 11/29/2008
A little more detail, a lot more danger, and some reality changes that I really wonder if they're irreversible. Plot moving forward in the Midworld, too. I guess we're in for a nasty, dirty resolution which will leave everyone ready for the next story...
| Panoply chapter 97 . 11/28/2008
Oh, I remember the Everest rescue. Interesting twist of events to have Jeff go out there instead. The changes are subtle, yet far reaching.
This is going to be an interesting rescue.
