I'm not quite sure why either of them were in the water in teh first place, but i sense that that is irrelevent. Jack's desperation and obvious sentiment for Gwen is very well protrayed in this fic.

The doctor's words to Jack are also very well used. I'd always suspected that they had effected him deeper than he'd let on.
