![]() ![]() ![]() There is just one thing that puzzles me - how does nobody notice how much Yuugi looks like Atem? For the concrit part: I really love this story, the characters, the pacing. How Yuugi deals with his trauma (which doesn't sound very healthy, but I guess it's the best he can do in that situation...). Sometimes I get lost in how much time has passed in the story (it always seems less to me, amd then I'm surprised when you write "7 months", when I thought it was 7 weeks :D ), though. :) |
![]() ![]() ![]() Thank you so much for writing this story. Keep writing, you're really good at it! |
![]() ![]() ![]() That was really amazing fic. I laughed and cryed and can't stop reading until I must. Thank you. That is all I can say. |
![]() ![]() ![]() loved the story! so yugi turned out taller than atem? aww the boy finally hit puberty! |
![]() ![]() ![]() I loved, loved, LOVED this story. It legit made me cry a couple of times. The story was amazing, and the amount of research you put into this is extraordinary. It just makes the whole thing come alive - I learned and was inspired to look up things about Ancient Egypt I'd never known before. And the mystery portion was fantastic! It took me forever to figure out whodunnit - I was thinking too hard about it, so after a while I just stopped trying to figure it out and then the answer came to me in those last few moments of consciousness before I fell asleep. ...Which of course meant I woke right up and it was impossible to go to sleep after that :) Thank you so much for posting this! |
![]() ![]() This is the most beautiful Yugioh fanfiction I've ever read! It really touched my heart. |
![]() ![]() I haven't read a really good fanfiction for a long time. You've really tugged at my heartstrings. I'm saving this one for future re-readings. 3 |
![]() ![]() ![]() THAT WAS SO BEAUTIFUL. I love this story so much. Your writing and the mysteries are just so wonderful. And that ending : ). I was just confused about the ending? I'm sorry it's a dumb question to ask but what is going on at the end with tem, how did he get there? I reread it and it seemed like he just stayed after disaearing in their duel, but idk, maybe I'm wrong. If you could explain it to me directly/simple terms, that would be great, but if you're busy , it's fine. But I cannot express enough how much I love this story. Thank you so much. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Question: is Bakura going to make an appreance? |
![]() ![]() ![]() Hi! I just binge read this the whole weekend and I love it to bits. Kudos on your intensive research for this. Oh and I'll have to thank you for the long author's notes regarding previous chapters. They're compelling me to read the previous chapters again. I do hope you're still sending out the extended ending. I would love to read it. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Oh, gods. I don't even care that you might not respond to this review since you wrote this eight years ago, but I need to express my utter gratitude for this beautiful piece of writing. I saw this fic recommended off of TV Tropes, and I am so glad I read it.. I found out there was going to be a new Yu-Gi-Oh movie a couple weeks ago, and that got me back into the fandom WITH A VENGEANCE. My fifteen-year-old self is rejoicing at how I've reverted to Puzzleshipping like my life depended on it. (And gods, I feel old for realizing that I watched this show a full decade ago.) I binged on this for the whole day and everything is GREAT. Two things that I especially love: -The beautifully researched history of Ancient Egypt. And I especially like that you didn't try to tone down the less savory aspects of a non-democratic society like... well, EVERY society before the Industrial Era, but especially Egypt. A society that owns slaves and goes a step up from most countries who just give their kings divine right to rule FROM the gods, and instead considers their king to BE a god himself, is not going to be fun when you're in the lower rungs of society. -Yugi's adorable blend of sass and idealism. A lot of people forget that he's actually pretty sassy and hormonal, probably because the anime removes those bits... yet somehow forgot to stop dressing him in bondage gear. I know personality doesn't equal fashion, but re-watching the show ten years later, I just keep thinking, "BY ALL THAT IS HOLY, YUGI, YOU NEED TO STOP WEARING SO MUCH LEATHER AND COLLARS. YOU ARE TRIPPING ME OUT, TALKING ABOUT FRIENDSHIP AND LOVE WHILE YOU LOOK LIKE A BONDAGE SLAVE." I love how you didn't turn him into a fragile little flower who cries at everything. Once he gets over the culture-shock in Egypt, I ADORE how he and Atem talk. Seriously, this characterization is some of the best I've seen. And I've waded through a whollllle lot of bad fanfiction back in the day. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I've read this story now several times. I just...I can't even! I don't even ship this. Hell, I don't know the first thing about the show until i read this, but i want to now thanks to this story. I am just so smitten, I keep thinking about how horrible for Atem, getting his memories back and having to wait for Yugi to catch up, and daydreaming of a sequel of one-shots (call them "Elaborate Lives") that are the 'what if's' surrounding everything Atem dealt with from the moment he lost Yugi, to the moment they are reunited and how the main storyline changed because of everything they went through. |
![]() ![]() Thats so mean making me cry at 1 am because of your beautiful fic that has a happy ending that works, holy shit This is amazing keep writing! |
![]() ![]() I can read this story over and over again! I love it so much! Thank you for sharing it with us. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I'm not sure you will read this, as this story was writen back at 2008~ BUT. I just felt like leaving a momment becuase this story is AMAZING. Yuugi and Atem/Yami my favorite characters in whole anime/manga and seeing him interact in Egypt is amazing. When Yuugi was poisoned, I actually cried because of how sweet and carring Atem was. Thank you for this story, will read the 4 chapters that still left. 3 |
