|Reviews for Still a Superhero|
| sapphireswimming chapter 1 . 3/25/2013
Awesome. I really liked this particular hunt and its complications. Sam's recollections of what he used to think of Dean, and how realizing that his older brother wasn't always right was a moment when he had to grow up more than he expected, and understanding what Dean's offer of going over the pictures meant... that was great.

Great brotherly fic. Of course Dean was Sam's hero when growing up, he was his parent, brother, best friend, protector and comforter and wanted to be just like him. Then he grew older, got more independent and wanted to strike out on his own. But your fic showed that even now, grown up and back hunting with Dean, he can still see the hero in his brother.
Awesome writing :)
| ILETUDRIVE chapter 1 . 8/10/2011
I think you hit the nail on the head with this one. Dean was everything to Sam his hero, protector, mother, savior and then suddenly Sam grew up and Dean became human in Sam's eyes. I think it's the one thing he misses the most.
| huge sg1 fan chapter 1 . 12/18/2010
i thought that was a really good story
| buttercupgalaxy chapter 1 . 6/10/2010
WOW! That was really lovely. Just the right balance of action and brotherly moments (which you write so beautifully). This is going straight on my favourites list.

Dean is totally a superhero ahahha And he kick asses in that!
Sammy will never stop thinking he is a hero, I'm pretty sure
Kisses and see ya next fic o/
| Whilom chapter 1 . 6/2/2009
Man, your description with the barbed wire of claustrophobia was spot-on; made me start hyperventilating, just reading it. Loved (as always) the brotherly interaction. ;)
| BlueSea14 chapter 1 . 1/1/2009
Only Sam could manage to get himself wrapped in barbed wire, in addition to getting himself choked by it. Why does everything want a piece of Sam's neck? ;)
| Nana56 chapter 1 . 9/19/2008
Dean's a hero, all right...just an unusual one. No one could or would take better care of Sam than Dean. He'd never leave him or let anything happen if he could prevent it. He'd also do anything for him. :D Great fic.
Did you just love the premier? I'm still floating. :D
| NC Girl chapter 1 . 9/1/2008
I'm not sure how I missed this when you first posted, but apparently I did-and what a treat to discover it today! As usual, I enjoyed the entire story but two things really stood out for me.
1. "Sam leaned out the door and threw up, tasting the blood that dampened his clothes, feeling Dean’s arm around his waist alongside his own, not letting him fall out of the car. Not letting him go as Sam’s stomach emptied and he subsided with a groan." There is just something so unusually touching about this. I can't really identify it beyond that, but it made me read it twice.
2. The entire ending- Dean suggesting that they look at the pictures. It's such a natural and genuine "family moment" yet particularly heartwarming and tender. But not overly so. But, just to make sure it doesn't cross that line, Dean adds his "no touchy-feely" warning for good measure.
Just really well done. So thank you for sharing!
| TraSan chapter 1 . 8/18/2008
Aw, this fic was recommended to me and I'm so glad it was. I just absolutely adored the brotherly moments in this one. Well, and the hurt!Sam is always a nice bonus, but it was all about the guys being brothers and the dynamic of the little bro/big bro and yeah - loved it.
| KatieLB chapter 1 . 7/23/2008
just going back over old stories and i do believe out of the hundreds of stories you have written i might have missed one or two LOL... great job on this one and yes clausterphobia would kick in big time with being traped by barbed wire... big time LOL
| aljanny chapter 1 . 4/24/2008
Ouch. Poor Sam... And to think, I get upset when I step on a tack, much less barbed wire.
Once again, perfect characterization.
| bhoney chapter 1 . 4/13/2008
This is one of the first fics of yours I ever read, and I just went back and re-read it, and it's still one of my favorites.
I love this:
“Used to be a time when whatever I said was law.”
“Used to be a time when I wore Batman pajamas with feet, Dean.” “Of course your word was law—I used to think you were a superhero.”
“Still am, Sammy.”
You do the brotherly banter SO well, and I love that Dean is still a superhero to Sam.
SO glad Dean left the shotgun with Sam. I was freaking out when there was a SECOND creature, and Sam was all vulnerable and alone. ACK! Glad big brother came to the rescue.
Great story! As always, I wanted more-I've been wanting to see the boys look at the pictures since they got them on the show. But, that's just me, I'm greedy. ;) Thanks for writing!
