| caffrey girl chapter 1 . 9/24/2013
Damn! The last line was like a textbook example of be careful what you wish for!
And ...um... I didn't get what the frogs meant?
Cute fic! I love that Sam could talk about jess without getting teary in it:-)
| LilyBolt chapter 1 . 6/19/2013
I loved this one. I especially liked your reference to Sam's dog-shirt from "Something Wicked". I re-watched that episode recently and laughed my but off at that particular choice of attire. And I agree, it looked purple. lol
| sapphireswimming chapter 1 . 3/27/2013
It's incredible how each little section, no matter how small, tells a complete story of Sam and Dean and Sam with Jessica and has all sorts of backstory laced into it. The section with the music had me laughing. Cannons. XD
| Vi-Violence chapter 1 . 2/17/2013
This was good.
| Claire chapter 1 . 11/13/2012
Another great story, in a series of many. I love how you show little hidden snippets of Sam, and his precious things (the frogs were a unique touch) and when Dean found out the family pictures had been in the bedroom & were beyond saving, and what that meant to him gave me a warm fuzzy. This is a pretty common occurrence with your work- I look forward to many more warm fuzzies!
One little minor niggly thing-I just can't see Dean Winchester using the word tchotcke.
You yes, middle-aged homebody me, yes- him, not so much. Maybe he'd call it girly frou frou stuff, because he does love to tease Sam about being a girl?
| Crystalzap chapter 1 . 9/24/2012
you know this kinda gives insight on how never staying in one place can effect you like never being able to have alot of your own stuff because everything you own has to be able to fit in a car and you may even have to leave it behind if you gotta leave right away.
| ziggy.uk chapter 1 . 9/22/2011
Loved this, how Dean was trying to give Sam back a sense of normal and a sense of home - with the books and the photos. He also learnt more about the man his brother had become when he had been at Stanford. Loved the frog T-shirt, and not surprised that Sam wouldn't elaborate on that, and adored how Sam thought the Grand Canyon cool seeing it with Dean, even though he had been there before with Jess! And perfect how Sam, as driver, chose the 1812 overture, knowing Dean would like the cannons! Loved too how observant Dean had been in that so short time he had been in Sam and Jess' apartment, everything having been noticed there. And loved how you bookended this with Dean being in the apartment as in the Pilot to pick up Sam.
| Caligo Origuu chapter 1 . 4/27/2010
Awesome, awesome, awesome.
| Whilom chapter 1 . 6/5/2009
Dean loving the Grand Canyon and buying books for Sam was very endearing. The frogs were hilarious, especially with Dean probing for more info. And Sam putting on Tchaikovsky, knowing Dean would like the cannons. ;)
| BlueSea14 chapter 1 . 1/2/2009
I enjoyed this because it offered a deeper look at Sam.
And I liked the frog thing. LOL, that's all I can say. :)
| Nana56 chapter 1 . 10/10/2008
Aww. Very nice. He did learn a lot in that short amount of time he had to look around the living room.
Smart man - made good use of the info later on. :D
| kirallie chapter 1 . 9/17/2008
Nice to see Dean doing what he can to give Sam back some of what he lost.
| Ghostwriter chapter 1 . 9/3/2008
Very cool. Catch ya on the flip side.
| luvjase chapter 1 . 8/28/2008
I just loved how you bookended this one. Very clever. Loved how seeing the Grand Canyon was more special for Sam seeing it with his brother. Sam's embarressment over the frogs was adorable. Dean procuring books for Sam was so thougtful. I loved that Sam continued to research during college. I know he swore he was done with hunting and didn't actively hunt during his college years, but I can't see him disregarding a lifetime of caution or habits. So salt and wards must have been laid and reserching was a habit he would have kept up. Absolutely loved the part with the pictures. I really love when you help us catch glimpses into their everyday lives. And yes, you never want to tick off the pizza guy. Thanks so much for this!
| IheartSam7 chapter 1 . 6/24/2008
So I decided to go on a little binge and read all of the stories you have ever written, a lot of them for the 4th, 5th or 20th time. I have to say that I hadn't ever read this one though, and as with all your other stuff, it was SO powerful and moving, and has me sobbing buckets. I thought that your writing got better as you got to know the brothers, and their characters, and wrote further into all the seasons, and it does. But I can also see that you got them from day 1, from the beginning, the bond they have, the words they share, and words unspoken, it is brilliant writing. It feels like they never were apart when Sam went to school, and I think that is absolutely amazing that you can do that. You just truly are wonderful. Thank You.
