|Reviews for Destiny|
| firstcatfish chapter 1 . 7/18/2013
I'm a bit confused. The spirit said that sometimes the debt can be paid by another. Who paid the debt? And was the debt Sam's life or Dean's or both? This story makes me think of the Bible story about Jacob wrestling with the angel and refusing to yield until God blessed him. I enjoyed it...even if I am still majorly confused.
| sapphireswimming chapter 1 . 3/31/2013
Oh man. And the tables turn once again. And now Dean's dying. But getting saved at the last minute. Because they both have work to do and they both need each other. Maybe the shock of losing each other a couple times in the past couple days and finally hearing it said by the spirit of an old Indian might knock some sense into these guys.
| caffrey girl chapter 1 . 1/21/2013
Awesome trilogy. Loved all three tag stories :-).
Got me curious though. If this was canon would dean stillve made the deal? I wonder...
| ackeberlynn chapter 1 . 1/20/2013
This is, quite simply, beautiful.
| JaniceC678 chapter 1 . 12/9/2012
Just finished the trilogy of Decisions, Debts, and Destiny and just wanted to say, what a GREAT series of stories. This last one, though, was especially incredible with that scene of Dean literally bleeding out in Sam's arms, Sam's desperate attempt to save him and then the final scene in which Sam is pretty sure they're going to both die together and just wants enough time to hold onto Dean until he's gone...had me in tears in the grocery store parking lot, LOL! Well done!
| ziggy.uk chapter 1 . 11/11/2011
Great story. It could only happen to the Winchesters, summoning the phantom cat but realising too late it was invisible most of the time and Dean getting attacked - fatally - but then knew you don't write death fics so kept hope! Loved the twist of the Ghost Wrestler and, despite Sam still having issues with Dean for trying to make a deal, he went and did the same himself, though could understand it as Dean was dying. A touch of pot calling kettle, perhaps! Loved the second twist that although Sam didn't beat the Ghost Wrestler he healed Dean anyway as he had a purpose and need of Sam and also his words to Sam. Had to smile at Dean insisting on driving once they got back to the car but good job as Sam was out as soon as he got inside the Impala.
Yet another fave story, beautifully crafted and perfectly executed, so wish you wrote for the show!
| mouse8 chapter 1 . 10/7/2009
Oh Wow! This was fantastic and I loved the continuation of the previous storyline you established. This was incredibly powerful, the desperation in it so real. Loved it!
| LittleLurker chapter 1 . 7/11/2009
once again thank you very much for three beautiful stories: Decisions, Debts, Destiny. All three of
these Crossroad Blues (tag-)stories were great - (guess you can't even do anything not good) - but
the last one with the Phantom Feline and the Ghost Wrestler left me speechless... well, for a few
minutes, at least...
You're a master at raw emotions, but in the end you always leave us with hope and a feeling that
somehow, no matter what nasty things lie ahead for the brothers, they will pull through. I just
love this about your stories.
And I also completely agree with what JazzyIrish already said. So, no need for repetition.
But - as usual - many thanks for writing these (and so many more) beautiful stories and, of course,
loads of thanks for sharing them with us!
Take care, D.
| Whilom chapter 1 . 7/3/2009
I liked Sam's SOB line-so unexpected, but it made me laugh. The wrestler was a great idea, very creative. His "Samuel, son of John" line was neat. ;) And the emotion of the whole story was at an all-time peak, which made me love it.
| BlueSea14 chapter 1 . 1/6/2009
This was extremely interesting. I loved the way the boys have some issues still-because that's just plain realistic-and I also love how Sam makes a deal with a Native American spirit and saves Dean. I loved the spirit's decision to save Dean for whatever reason it had. That was great.
| JazzyIrish chapter 1 . 12/5/2008
Well this one's a tear-jerker! I just finished the three post-Crossroad Blues stories. Each one was fabulous, but I liked this one the best. The things I do just to get myself up to speed to read "Heart's Desire" ;)
Seriously, all three stories point out just how much these brothers will do for one another. When Dean made that stupid deal that whisked Sammy away, the way you portrayed him waiting for Sam's return was heart-wrenching. Reading that, I can just picture what went through Dean's head when Sam died. Winchesters and deals - somehow they never learn.
I love the CRB time frame. Dean's slowly healing wounds over his father's death were ripped open again and that, together with the weight of the secret almost broke him. But I love that Sam will always forgive Dean, understand his motives, and help him in any way he can even after the folly of Dean's deal. Sam's bravery and willingness to give his own life if necessary to save Dean's is proof of that. These boys just kill me.
Thanks for sharing these wonderful stories with us. Now I'm off to read "Heart's Desire" - the one that brought me back to these stories in the first place. Until next time...
| Nana56 chapter 1 . 12/4/2008
Okay, now you made me cry! *sniff* When Dean was dying and all that was going on, I lost it completely. You wrote that way too well. Absolutely heart-wrenching.
| Zubeneschamali chapter 1 . 8/27/2008
Illinois, represent! Loved this trilogy, especially the middle story where you left it up to our imagination as to what exactly happened to Sam. And the two additional deals that don't work out quite like the brother who made them expected, one in a bad sense and one in a good sense. I like the image of Sam as Jacob wrestling with the angel; it definitely fits him.
| amyblair chapter 1 . 6/26/2008
Fantastic trio! You should be so proud of yourself - these were all wonderful, the phantom cat was a great thing to hunt! Loved it!
| bhoney chapter 1 . 5/24/2008
I can't believe I never left a review for this, because it's one of my favorites of yours. Great supernatural elements-the phantom wildcat, and the Ghost Wrestler-and lots of emotion and brotherly moments. I was really surprised when Sam lost to the GW, I wasn't sure HOW the boys were going to save Dean. Watching him die, and Sam's reaction, Sam singing Metallica...it was breaking my heart. SO glad the Ghost Wrestler saved Dean, that he has a purpose still to fulfill. I was a little puzzled by this line: “Some debts can be paid by another.” Was it the GW who paid his debt then?
Loved the brotherly moment at the car and Sam finally breaking down, and being comforted by Dean. And of course, Dean's snarky comment, about having a reputation to protect. LOL
