This is well-written, of course. Don’t think anyone can dispute that!

But as other comments pointed out, there are some rapey moments that aren’t actually okay in this. For example, when Hermione says no and struggles against Draco and his response is to continue rather than pull away and oblige her, he’s raping her. Another moment was when he woke up fucking her and slipped his dock inside her without her consent. It’s one thing to agree on it beforehand, it’s another thing to just do it without any conversation. Also, the narrative of “losing control” when you are always in control during sex. I’m really only pointing this out for younger readers because I was once a younger reader. I read fanfiction like this and have assumed sex like that was okay and natural, and that feral, predatory males for the default. It actually resulted in me accepting sexual abuse I suffered and not realizing I was even abused until a few years later. My life is very messed up from that right now. Of course I’m not saying this fanfiction caused that, that’s ridiculous. The prose is excellent and the suspension is wild, and I know what you were trying to go for. You weren’t trying to go for rape - you were just going for some sexy sex. I totally get that. I just wanted to post a respectful review pointing out which moments are Dubcon and why rather than just yelling at you. I don’t feel like that’s going to accomplish anything, especially on a now 13 year-old story. I bet you’ve moved on and your writing style has changed, which is completely reasonable to believe. I know romanticizing rape and dubcon as consensual send when it wasn’t was big in the 2000s and into the early and mid 2010s….some stories still do that today.

I just think it’s important to point out the moments that are dubcon/rape for future readers to reach and enlighten people because I wish someone enlightened me when I needed it. I had to find out the hard way and writing this long comment is my way of letting people find out the easy way. Hope you’re onto greener pastures and learned from this. Also, the way you describe sex beat to beat is phenomenal. Sex can be very empowering to write about and read about when you choose to - restoring a sense of agency is important to recovering from sexual abuse. So when rape pops up without any warning or fanfic awareness, it takes away that control in a sense because we didn’t see it coming and get to choose it. Have a nice day, every reader reading this
