Reviews for Expert Witness
GabiD57 chapter 1 . 2/25/2008
Now that I've finally gotten to see some of the episodes, I have to say I appreciate this story even more. I could completely see and hear it because it was so in character, and that to me is one of the best compliments I know how to give. Loved it.

Well,I remember this one I think or am I thinking of a different story.I am pretty sure though that I have read this in one of the CDFanzines.

McCormick does always wanna help out and he does care so much about what others think of of all he cares what Milt thinks of him and about Milt sees how concerned Mark is about him and what they will think about Milt it did surprise Milt.

This was a very good one I could picture all the way through.

I am always happy to be reading all these stories alot of read quite a few times.

This is just a wonderful job of showing the evolution of not just a relationship but of character and understanding. The banter is perfect and I love the ending. It's so believable and true; but then you _know_ these guys. I envy your ability to translate that knowledge to words and share it with the rest of us.

Thank you!
L.M.Lewis chapter 1 . 2/25/2008
Lots and lots of layers, and all dovetailed so neatly with both the canon and your own stuff. Great opening pitch-Mark incensed at not being able to do his part to see justice served on Martin Cody. And then his subsequent gradual evolution from anxious witness to semi-pro (all under Hardcastle's concerned guidance but mostly an inner process of his own doing), I loved it.

And this:

"Well, you’re not an ex-con now," Hardcastle said reasonably, "you’re a law student."

McCormick smiled slightly. "I was a law student the last couple of times, too; you just didn’t know it." The smile faded. "And I’ll always be an ex-con."

-that last six words, really the thing in a nutshell. You can never really not be *formerly* something you once were. This is a wonderful visit to once practical consequence of that issue.

The only downside to this wonderful slice of their relationship is that it was not longer...I enjoyed it very much!
