| emptyword chapter 1 . 5/14/2007
Breath-taking. Really. It is so intriguing to think of the enigmatic, wise, loving Dumbledore in his youth. Your portrayal is a very believable one, that of a cheerful, playful youth afflicted with too much responsibility and expectations. I can definitely see that. I am terribly tempted to favorite again.

oh my god... so emotional and sad...wow...you are really good at writing angst...keep writing,

Well. Where to begin. I am in awe. You certainly have 'bittersweet' nailed down. I got chills throughout several passages. Excellent, excellent piece. Too many people don't give much thought to Dumbledore's past (*guilty as charged*). I like the way his whole 'destiny' situation seems to run parallel to Harry Potter's.
Loved this. Thanks for a great read!

I'm crying now...really, I am. This is just amazing...so original...so /painful/...and the power of it? Albus still lives on. He leaves things behind him without completely forgetting. He's there, and he's letting himself live through it all, he has the power to live. And the way you've concluded...that the ones we love are never truly gone, even if they only have a voice in your head, they never really leave us. An amazing piece, as are your others. If I can take a break from reading your stories, I might actually be able to add you...oh, well, I want to read everything first _
| HiBob chapter 1 . 3/17/2002
I know it's supposed to be angst, but with all the murders and deaths and suicides, why did you end it with a criminal act of littering? Other than that, I liked the story a lot.
| Tessie chapter 1 . 2/17/2002
That was just... WOW! What a sad story. Well written. It explains so much about Albus. Fantastic!
| BladedBlossom chapter 1 . 2/16/2002
Ah, the price of not following one's own wishes. I liked this fic. This is so sad. I see Albus as having endured lots of tragedy, too, because of his wisdom. I wonder if Rowling will go into his past. Great job with the fic.
| Helna chapter 1 . 12/22/2001
(Whips a tear from her eye) Good story.
| Katarina Freeman chapter 1 . 12/17/2001
Your writing is awsome. You know what? I'm addicted to reader reviews too! (hint: you can read my stuff! ::grin::) Poor Dumbledore. Have you read Ender's Game? Emeregence? The Child Buyer? Dorsai? All deal with gifted people and how they decide (or are forced) to "live up to their potential," which you seem to write very well.
| aliengirl chapter 1 . 9/25/2001
See I told you you could write it a lot better than I ever could. The end were he hears Vivianne's voice is so sad. Makes me re-evaluate his talk with Harry in PoA about loved ones never leaving. Dumbledore would have made such a good husband and a wonderful father.
