I like this fic because Shinji here begins to stop being a idiot and confronts Asuka, recriminating her for the first time for all her abusive behavior towards him during the months they were living together.
Yeah, Shinji abandoned Asuka, masturbated with her, tried to kill her and caused Third Impact, but no one can deny that the redhead was largely to blame for all of this.
She abused her roommate and not even the fact that he saved her life in the volcano made her reconsider her behavior.
And Asuka's antisocial behavior is not something that can be ignored, since she never acknowledged, thanked or apologized to Shinji, what's more, she blamed him for all her shit.
Yeah, Asuka's right that Shinji's chronic apologies are a pathetic attempt to avoid confrontation but she can start apologizing now and admit that she's the one responsible for all the shit she's in.
Shinji is not the only one who has to change, she has to admit that she pushed him away with her abrasiveness and that four courteous gestures would have saved her from all the ordeal she has suffered.

This was amazing. Such great development, the pacing was great, the exploration didnt feel forced and even the growth of the characters aside from their development together was impressively well done. congratulations on such a great work of art

What I like most about this story is the perfect characterization of Shinji and Asuka. It is as if he is seeing an extension of the original work.
Being an uncomfortable relationship, difficult, but ultimately comforting.
